Location: San Francisco or New York

As the Chief of Staff / Head of Strategy, Financial Partnerships, you'll be instrumental in driving Airwallex’s strategic initiatives and optimizing our global partnerships ecosystem. Reporting directly to the VP of Financial Partnerships, you'll play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and inspecting mechanisms to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in collaborating with external partners and internal stakeholders. You'll lead high-priority special projects, often pioneering initiatives critical to Airwallex's growth. Additionally, you'll be at the forefront of negotiating large and complex deals, leveraging your expertise to ensure successful outcomes.

What you’ll do:

  • Collaborate closely with executive leadership to develop and execute strategic initiatives that drive growth and enhance efficiency and effectiveness of the Financial Partnerships team.

  • Design and implement mechanisms to streamline processes and optimize collaboration with external partners (e.g., banks, card networks, local payment method providers, fintechs) and internal stakeholders, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.

  • Lead high-priority special projects, taking ownership from inception to execution and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

  • Provide strategic guidance and support on negotiations of large and complex deals, leveraging your expertise in financial services and payments to achieve favorable outcomes.

  • Conduct thorough analyses and market research to identify growth opportunities and inform strategic decision-making.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally, to facilitate collaboration and drive results.

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field; MBA preferred.

  • Experience in management consulting and technology - ideally, financial services/fintech - with a focus on strategy, business development, and partnerships.

  • Proven track record of success in driving strategic initiatives and negotiating complex deals within a fast-paced technology company, preferably in financial services or payments.

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information and make data-driven decisions.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with a passion for driving impact and delivering results.

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, with a strong sense of urgency and adaptability.
