About the team

The SME & Growth Business team at Airwallex is a passionate group of collaborators and business champions dedicated to empowering small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to thrive in the global economy. We combine deep financial expertise with a growth mindset, working closely with our clients to understand their unique needs and develop tailored solutions that streamline cross-border payments and unlock new revenue streams. As a team, we are driven by a desire to make a positive impact and are constantly innovating to find new ways to support the success of our SME customers.

What you’ll do

Join the US SMB travel team at Airwallex and will help articulate how our product suite addresses pain points in the travel industry from managing cross-border payments to mitigating currency fluctuations.If you have a customer first mentality, are solution focused, obsessively curious about everything, and have a desire to make an impact and grow yourself, our market, and our customers, then you have found your calling. This is a once in a lifetime type of opportunity and we are looking for the best of the best. Your primary focus will be bringing on new SMB travel customers and leverage your skills in pitching, negotiating and driving internal processes to set up our partnerships for success.

This role is based in San Francisco or New York.

Responsibilities:

Own the Sales Cycle: Manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting and building relationships with travel businesses to closing deals and exceeding revenue targets.

Drive Customer Acquisition: Proactively identify and acquire potential travel businesses that could benefit from Airwallex's solutions, utilizing both inbound and outbound strategies.

Establish Airwallex as a Leader: Build strong relationships and close deals with key travel businesses, solidifying Airwallex's position as a major player in the travel payments industry.

Uncover New Opportunities: Identify and explore new sub-verticals within the travel industry, uncovering fresh opportunities for Airwallex's growth.

Champion Customer Success: Advocate for a customer-centric approach, ensuring travel businesses leverage Airwallex solutions to optimize their financial operations.

Develop expertise: Become an expert in all aspects of the Airwallex platform, our travel industry customers, and the solutions we offer.

Foster Collaboration: Collaborate closely with internal teams (legal, finance, strategy) to structure winning partnerships for travel businesses.

Build Team Culture: Be a team player and set the standard for excellence within the entire SMB sales function.

Who you are

We're looking for people who meet the minimum qualifications for this role. The preferred qualifications are great to have, but are not mandatory.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years of inside and/or field sales experience closing net new business in a high growth company; experience in travel, fintech and/or international payments a must

Preferred qualifications:

  • A customer-focused, consultative approach to sales

  • A desire to be in the fintech/payments space

  • A collaborator who is willing to work with people at all levels and across functions and cultures

  • Success-oriented and hold yourself accountable for delivering key outcomes including revenue targets

  • A FIO (Figure It Out) attitude and are willing to do whatever is necessary to achieve results

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
