Posted on Apr 23, 2025

DESCRIPTION

AWS Technical Content Experience (TCX) is transforming how we create and update technical information and documentation for AWS with AI. This is your opportunity to join a fast moving project with significant customer impact and direct visibility to senior leadership. Come help us build new authoring experiences that enable new documentation experiences across AWS.

We are looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer who can build innovative experiences using AI to enhance content creation and management.

What We Do
The AWS TCX Engineering team owns all of the tools in support of content creators for AWS Documentation. We innovate, we research, we learn, and we experiment. We collaborate with product managers to understand our customers’ needs. In this role, you will own solutions from design and execution through deployment and support, using the best of available tools, including AI (Bedrock, Q, others), Lambda, and DynamoDB. You will be responsible for holding the code quality high, even as we optimize our development processes to better serve our customers, and will be expected to mentor and guide junior engineers. You should be invested in helping our customers, understanding that it is important to pair infrastructure with the ability to properly manage it at scale. Most importantly, you should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where delivery of new products and features is very rapid. AWS Documentation is a critical part of our cloud and AI is rapidly transforming how content is created and managed.

The right candidate will possess proven software engineering skills, with experience creating and launching large distributed systems with the help of a team. You are expected to be versatile, able to thrive in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment and eager to mentor junior engineers. You are comfortable managing competing priorities and are able to bring order to ambiguous scenarios. Maturity, impeccable judgment, and the ability to influence and lead are essential to success in this role. You are data-driven and analytical. You can clearly & effectively communicate (written as well as verbally) across organizations and up to senior leadership.

Work/Life Balance
Our team puts a high value on work-life balance. We operate out of Amazon's new HQ2 complex in Arlington, VA. We generally keep core in-office hours from 10am to 4pm and value a balance of in-person collaboration with individual focus work.

Mentorship & Career Growth
Our team is dedicated to supporting new team members. Our team has a broad mix of experience levels and Amazon tenures, and we’re building an environment that celebrates knowledge sharing and mentorship. Our senior engineers truly enjoy mentoring more junior engineers and engineers from non-traditional backgrounds through one-on-one mentoring and thorough, but kind, code reviews.

We care about your career growth. We try to assign projects and tasks based on what will help each team member develop into a better-rounded engineer and enable them to take on more complex tasks in the future.
