The role

This is a unique opportunity to break into venture capital and gain exposure to some of the most exciting early-stage startups in Australia and beyond. You’ll work alongside outstanding founders as part of a high-performing team that’s among the most active VC firms in the region. It’s a rare chance to build your network, sharpen your investment instincts, and fast-track your career in VC.
The purpose of the role is to deliver an exceptional founder experience, build processes and systems geared towards operational efficiency, and enable high-quality investments. Now deploying our second fund, Antler has ambitions to invest in hundreds of companies in the region over the next few years.

Responsibilities

Residency Operations

  • Own key investment and residency coordination processes to optimise for founder experience and speed of investment
  • Manage movements of founders throughout the residency including AI workflows, Slack management, and maintaining the Antler Hub, our proprietary CRM
  • Alongside the Investments team, assist in the smooth delivery of Antler’s residency content including managing in-person sessions, ensuring founders have access to resources, and owning the tech setup for session delivery
  • Own processes leading up to Investment Committee meetings, e.g. manage completion of pre-investment checks including ensuring submission of documents or pitch resources as required
  • Maintain operational relationships with partners and external VCs that are invited into the Antler investment process including ensuring our communications to them are smooth, have robust information, and manage expectations effectively
  • Support community and investor events including ordering food and drinks, setting up event spaces or organising external events, and communications required for event delivery

Scouting and Ecosystem

  • Contribute to our Scouting efforts to find the best founders in Australia via events, outreach and interviews
  • Attend ecosystem events and identify high-potential founders
  • Provide a platform for L&D opportunities within the Antler team via collaboration with our VP of Operations and Antler teams around the world
  • Own day-to-day relationship and operations with our office space providers

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of relevant professional experience, ideally in a startup environment

  • Highly intelligent; proven educational track record

  • Demonstrable passion for VC and working with founders

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to write and speak in a structured and articulate manner

  • Highly organised, proactive and comfortable with ambiguity; able to structure and execute multiple processes simultaneously

  • Hands-on experience building or using AI agents, automation workflows (e.g. Zapier, Gumloop), or AI dev tools (e.g. n8n, v0, Lovable)

  • Experience in a fast-moving environment preferred

  • ​​​​​​​Experience in a program-based operational or co-ordination role

  • Strong founder network

  • Entrepreneurial experience as a founder or early startup employee

This role is based in either Melbourne or Sydney, and requires you to be in the office four days per week (Monday to Thursday) with the opportunity to work one day remotely.
