Biarri Networks is on the lookout for a Information Security Lead in Melbourne or Brisbane.

We are a small but mighty global team with offices in Melbourne and Brisbane. This role is required to work in a hybrid setting, both in the office and from home.

The salary range for this role is $130,000 - $169,000 (inclusive of superannuation) depending on experience.

The Information Security Lead role is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong delivery experience and solid technical capability, who thrives on coordinating complex programs, engaging stakeholders, and guiding teams across multiple areas of responsibility.

In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and strengthening the our readiness within regulatory ISO27001 and data security frameworks. You will operate as a critical link for and need to regularly collaborate with internal teams by working to ensure necessary requirements, challenges and priorities are captured. You understand change management principles, and will help the team to perform better by introducing significant improvements to technology, process, and practice.

You are an indirect leader who is focused on continuous improvement, constantly seeks to learn new things and enjoys working with likeminded individuals. You are able to proactively blend a best practice approach against business capabilities and parameters, ensuring that initiatives and goals align with broader department and business objectives.

Duties & Responsibilities:

ISO 27001:2022 Implementation and Maintenance

  • Lead the maintenance and ongoing improvement of ISO 27001:2022, ensuring alignment with the standard's, requirements and best practices
  • Continuous development and maintenance the ISMS documentation, including policies, procedures, and risk assessments
  • Conduct regular internal audits to assess the effectiveness of the ISMS and identify areas for improvement.
  • Manage external ISO 27001:2022 certification audits
  • Provide ongoing training and awareness programs to ensure all employees understand their security responsibilities
  • Liaise with customers and 3rd parties on security assessments and security reviews

Security Incident Management:

  • Assist in developing and maintaining the incident response plans, ensuring it is regularly tested and updated
  • Lead the response to security incidents, coordinating with relevant teams to contain, investigate, and remediate incidents
  • Conduct post-incident reviews to identify root causes and implement preventive measures
  • Maintain incident logs and provide regular reporting to management

Security Leadership:

  • Provide expert advice and guidance to management and staff on security best practices
  • Stay up to date on the latest security threats and trends, and proactively implement measures to mitigate risks
  • Foster a security-conscious culture across the organisation
  • Work with internal stakeholders to develop relationships to help promote and improve information security and provide security advice on projects, products and new initiatives as required

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in information security positions or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience in managing security incidents
  • Strong understanding of modern security threats and technologies
  • Excellent collaboration, leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate efficiently with all levels of the organization
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work methodically with strong procedural discipline
  • Demonstrated time management skills and ability to balance multiple, conflicting priorities

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department.
