Job Summary:

The Financial Controller position is responsible for overseeing and managing the company’s finance and accounting operations, including analysis of financial records, preparing financial statements, budget and forecast preparation, ensuring compliance with global accounting standards, performing account reconciliations, and managing the month and year-end accounting processes in line with corporate ownership timelines. A key focus of this role is intermediate-to-advanced expertise in revenue recognition, including managing project and SaaS-based revenue streams in compliance with ASC 606 and IFRS 15 standards.

This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented person who can develop strong stakeholder relationships amidst a global and interconnected business group. Being able to prioritize various work activities, as well as work with ambiguity, is critical in this position. The Financial Controller role will require someone who enjoys finding solutions to complex finance and accounting challenges as the business evolves.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

People Management responsibilities the Financial Controller must maintain includes:

  • Managing and leading a small team of accountants ranging from junior to senior experience levels
  • Hire, train, develop and coach the work of all team members; runs
  • onboarding and training programs for new team members as required
  • Manage the distribution of projects and workload for all team members
  • Completes individual performance assessments, provides regular
  • feedback to their team and manages performance where required
  • Assess the quality and output of all team members for all internal and external stakeholder projects

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage all global accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL and Consolidation, Cost Accounting, Fixed asset schedules and Revenue Recognition.
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
  • Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
  • Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
  • Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
  • Work with stakeholders to manage the internal delivery of tax compliance for multiple jurisdictions, including U.S., Australia, and the U.K.
  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Perform data analysis tasks as required.
  • Work with the Commercial Team to calculate, manage and process any and all Commission owed from the Biarri Networks Incentive Plan.
  • In relation to internal data privacy policies and the Biarri Networks Information Classification document, the Financial Controller is responsible for maintaining, controlling and protecting the flow and existence of financial data within internal systems and software.
  • Additional controller duties as necessary.

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of US payroll, applicable taxes and other regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Strong understanding of the US local, state and federal compliance requirements.
  • Highly competent with Microsoft Office suite including advanced Excel skills

Required Education & Experience

  • Minimum 7 years professional experience held in finance and accounting positions, or demonstrated equivalent
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting; or equivalent professional experience
  • CA/CPA qualification preferred, but not required
