The role, and what you'll be doing

We’re looking for a hands-on Head of Engineering to own technical execution.

You’ll partner closely with product and take full ownership of how things get built, architecture, infrastructure, deployment, and delivery.

This is a build role, not a spectator role. For the right person, there’s a clear path to CTO.

You’ll also play a key role in delivering AI-driven capabilities into production.

What you’ll do

Engineering Leadership

• Lead and mentor engineers across software and data
• Set the bar on code quality, architecture, and delivery standards
• Build best practices across CI/CD, testing, and incident response
• Create a high-performance culture focused on continuous improvement
• Own hiring as the team scales

Architecture & Infrastructure

• Own platform architecture and technical decisions
• Design for scalability, reliability, and security
• Manage cloud environments and compliance requirements
• Partner with product to translate ideas into executable plans

Delivery

• Ship high-quality software; this role is measured on output
• Stay hands-on in the codebase
• Drive execution of AI and ML capabilities in production
• Align engineering with business and operational needs

About you - Required

• 5+ years engineering experience; 2+ years leading teams
• Hands-on leader who still writes production code
• Experience building engineering functions in early-stage or scaling environments
• Strong full-stack capability (Python, JS, React), with backend and data depth
• Proven track record of lifting engineering standards
• Cloud experience (GCP, AWS, or Azure)

Nice to have

• Energy or climate tech experience
• Experience shipping AI/ML into production
• Exposure to ERP, CRM, or operational tooling
• Distributed systems, IoT, or real-time data experience
