Position Overview
Unlock your full potential by joining our team in the pivotal Chief of Staff role. This role will be instrumental in enhancing our operational efficiency and strategic focus as Clipboard continues through its next phase of exciting growth. You’ll report to - and directly support - the CEO by managing a diverse range of responsibilities, allowing for a greater emphasis on long-term strategic goals. The ideal candidate will be a versatile professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is skilled in driving operational improvements.
Each day, you'll work on optimising operations, addressing critical tasks, and supporting various strategic projects. You will work across finance, operations, sales, customer success, product, HR and beyond. You will be hands-on and have the ability to step into multiple areas of the business as needed. We seek someone with strong business acumen, good financial knowledge and an affinity with data. Perfect for a “doer” with a great attitude. Key Responsibilities
- Partner with CEO - Collaborate with the CEO to drive strategy, collaborate with CEO and leadership on OKRs and KPIs
- Finance - Handle financial operations, including working with bookkeepers, accounts payable/receivable, and other processes
- Financial modelling - Assist with budgeting, own and manage the financial model
- Data analysis - Conduct data analysis across the business and provide insights to support strategic decisions
- Strategy - Collect, synthesise and analyse company data to identify and drive cross-functional strategic initiatives
- Process improvements - Identify and implement improvements in business processes and efficiency
- Reporting - Assist with business reporting to different stakeholders
- Administration and operations - Act as the lead for other business administration processes, HR and governance
- Office management - Basic office management, supplies and administration
Skills and Experience
- Strong commercial acumen - You have a thorough understanding of how a SaaS business works, what makes them tick and what metrics are important
- Financial savvy - You possess a solid understanding of accounting and finances
- Data and spreadsheet guru - You have a high proficiency in data analysis and spreadsheets
- Strong communicator - You are able to communicate effectively and have strong people skills
- Great presenter - You are confident in producing compelling presentations (incl. slides), as well as communicating and presenting ideas
- An adaptable generalist - You’re a “doer”, who is comfortable stepping into different areas of the business as needed
- Capable project manager - You feel confident in your ability to keep initiatives on track and work cross-functionally across special projects
- Strategic thinker - You’re able to think about the future in a strategic way that aligns with the company’s vision
Ideally some of the following experience:
- Experience at another fast-paced startup in operational or generalist role
- Experience in finance or strategy whether at consulting firm, bank, accounting firm or other similar role
