Company Description

DBC Philippines is the shared services company of Deep Blue Company (DBC) - an innovative Australian scale-up reimagining the experience in the 'sale to settlement' for residential property buyers, sellers and real estate agents across Australia. Our group of brands includes Conveyancing.com.au, First Class Legal and bytherules - three leading Property Law firms.

The main responsibility of the People Partner role is supporting the Director and the People PH team in managing HR operations, compliance, and employee engagement. The role acts as a mid-layer partner and gatekeeper, ensuring governance in recruitment and lifecycle processes, while also serving as a Business Continuity Person (BCP) by stepping in to cover either strategic or operational responsibilities when required.

Our People Partner will take ownership of:

1. Business Continuity (BCP)

  • Cover leadership responsibilities during the Director's absence (policy enforcement, escalations, compliance reporting).
  • Cover operational responsibilities during Operations' absence (onboarding, payroll inputs, benefits, records).
  • Ensure uninterrupted People services across PH operations.

2. Governance & Gatekeeping

  • Review and validate hires, contracts, and role definitions.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to ensure alignment with budget and company policies.
  • Standardize onboarding and offboarding processes.

3. HR Operations (PH Focus)

  • Maintain employee masterlists, org charts, and records.
  • Monitor probationary reviews, regularization, and service awards.
  • Support with the administration of statutory and company benefits (SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, HMO).
  • Support compliance with OSH, APE, and RDT requirements.

4. Compliance & Policy Administration

  • Draft and support implementation of NTEs, NODs, quitclaims, and other labor documents.
  • Ensure full compliance with PH labor law and company policies.
  • Support audit readiness and proper HR documentation.

5. People Partnering & Engagement

  • Provide ad-hoc HR partnering support to AU business units (onboarding, benefits, contract variations).
  • Act as liaison for PH employees and AU leaders.
  • Coordinate employee engagement and well-being initiatives.

Qualifications

You’re an experienced people professional who is considered in their approach but at the same time are comfortable hustling and getting things done. You bring to the role your energy and excitement for doing things a little differently in an environment where the foundations are being built.

A curious, self starter with a passion for delivering great outcomes, you are willing to have a go at just about anything and know how to see a great idea through to execution. You love being part of a team and are excited about the opportunity to build your knowledge and professional skill set. You thrive in an environment where 'they way its always been done' isn't how we get things done.

Coupling your experience (at least 5+ years) working in a professional HR environment ideally in medium sized multinational enterprise, you know how to establish strong relationships with stakeholders in other locations and how to influence outcomes. You’ll have:

  • Experience in delivering a range of HR services, advice and administrative support, ideally with experience supporting colleagues in AU / NZ or UK

  • Business, Psychology or a related degree else a Post-grad HR qualification (nice to have)

  • Advanced MS Office Suite, esp. Excel, in being able to manipulate large volumes of data

  • HRIS maintenance

  • Xero (payroll app) for supporting employees with access to pay and personal information (nice to have)

  • Broad HR experience with an understanding of and exposure to the key processes that drive the employee lifecycle

  • Solid knowledge of Philippine labor law; exposure to AU HR practices (nice to have)
  • Strong experience in employee relations, policy administration, and HR governance
  • Energy and excitement for doing things a little differently in an environment where the foundations are being built

  • Collaborative in nature with excellent interpersonal skills

  • Advanced time management and organisational skill with a strong ability to manage multiple tasks and activities on time and to a high quality standard

  • Ability to solve problems and communicate ideas in a simple, structured and engaging ways

  • Exceptional English communication skills, both written and verbal to ensure you deliver key messages in a high impact way that influences outcomes

  • Comfort working as part of a high performing team where we constantly challenge the status quo and how things have been done before

  • Must be a self-starter with strong determination to see tasks through to completion

WORKING HOURS, LOCATION AND REQUIREMENTS

As this role supports DBC's Australian teams, hours of work will align with Australian Eastern Standard / Summer Time.

This role works in a HYBRID SETUP requiring on-site attendance atleast once a week and in order to be considered for this opportunity you must be able to demonstrate your home working environment is as follows:

  • conducive home office (free from noise and distraction)
  • main internet: wired internet of at least 100mbps
  • reliable back up internet: at least 20mbps speed
