This role is part of Alcon's Quality & Regulatory Affairs function, a team that ensures our products are in compliance with global, local, and internal regulations and meet the strictest standards of quality as we help people see brilliantly.
The Sr. Associate, Quality Assurance (Professional Path) is primarily responsible for providing tactical site support to ensure compliance with site, Alcon, and international regulations. You will coordinate site gap assessments, manage corrective actions, and apply advanced knowledge and skills to achieve objectives through self-directed work. Specifics include:
• Perform specialized tasks and conduct independent research to optimize outcomes and contribute to project goals
• Ensure quality assurance processes are followed and products meet required standards
• Work within project teams and make decisions within the scope of assigned tasks
• Conduct studies, assess data, and prepare technical reports for approval
• Manage all quality-related activities at the regional level, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and global requirements
• Oversee quality control activities for finished products, including product complaints
• Adhere to Good Practice (GxP) regulations by following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintaining documentation, and completing required training
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and commit to continuous improvement
• For Brazil: Hold legal responsibility for the quality, storage, and distribution of products at Alcon Distribution Centers
• For Switzerland: Ensure readiness for quality inspections, manage complaints, recalls, and product tampering, and oversee batch release
• Archive samples, make decisions on product use or sale, and investigate returned goods
• Implement procedures to update quality processes, control packaging materials, and prepare regulatory documentation
• Ensure timely archiving and disposal of records and samples
• Prepare and review SOPs, provide training and support to teams, and follow up on training programs
• Handle Quality Assurance (QA)-related issues, follow up on audit results, and ensure timely rejection of expired and damaged products
• Contribute to cost-effectiveness projects and the development of the Quality Assurance Department, promoting continuous improvement and high performance.
Requirements:
Minimum of 4 years of experience in similar roles
Intermediate to advanced level of English proficiency.
Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Science, or Engineering.
All associates must adhere to GxP regulations by strictly following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintaining accurate and complete documentation, ensuring rigorous quality control, and completing all required training.
