This role is part of Alcon's Sales & Sales Support function, a team that helps provide access to products across all channels in an effort to drive customer satisfaction with eye care professionals to help people see brilliantly.

As a Business Development Manager, you will promote, sell and support Alcon Vision Care products such as contact lenses, Contact Lens Care and products for Dry Eye relief. You will operate within own territory of accounts and is the First Point of contact for the account.

The ideal candidate will work in his/her own territory with accounts in the optical business – which means optical stores in Denmark – in the Sealand & Funen area.

The job includes travelling – sometimes with night stay-over – and participation in meetings with the Nordic sales team and rest of the Nordic Vision Care team, primarily held in Copenhagen.


In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Sales of contact lenses and contact lens care products

  • Build long-term relationships with accounts (optical stores)

  • Providing product trainings on optical store level

  • Analyze, create, and execute business plans customized to the needs of the customer

  • Handle promotional activities

  • Communicate market (customer, consumer, competitor etc.) information to the Alcon teams

  • Participate in optical fairs and exhibitions (can include some weekends 3 – 4 per year)

  • Work with Nordic Sales Team – meetings, trainings, best practice sharing

  • Store activities (Lens Day)

  • Work towards specific KPIs / Objectives

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:

  • Experience from working in customer facing positions

  • Excellent sales skills and building & maintaining long-term business relationships

  • Good financial / business understanding, analytical skills and interest for marketing mechanism

  • Experience with usage of IT to a fair level (Word, Excel etc.)

  • Strong focus on customer satisfaction

  • Passion about sales

  • Close-the-deal mindset

  • Team player attitude, but also with the ability to work independently

  • Ability to take ownership and be accountable

  • Experience in Medical Devices, Pharmaceutical or FMCG industry

  • Fluent level of Danish and fair level of English
