How you contribute
This position offers an exciting opportunity for a Software Engineer with expertise in web 3D concepts and technologies to join our technology team. In this role, you will ensure the seamless operation of our React Native applications by implementing and maintaining efficient, scalable, and robust code. A strong understanding of and emphasis on 3D performance optimization and tuning for mobile devices is essential.
Here's what we need
- Ensuring the smooth operation of our React Native applications by implementing and maintaining efficient, scalable, and robust code.
- Ensuring optimized integration of the 3D rendering component that displays the real-time environment during operation.
- Ensuring that features are delivered on time and with high quality by keeping internal stakeholders informed throughout the project timeline.
- Ensuring flawless integration with back-end technology and a great user experience by working closely with the UX team.
- Engage with stakeholders and team members to plan and design features that meet business needs and customer expectations.
- Contribute to the team's knowledge of React Native and mentor less experienced team members in best practice
How you'll succeed
- Intermediate to expert level experience in web 3D concepts and technologies - specifically Babylon.js but THREE.js considered
- Solid understanding of and focus on 3D performance optimisation and tuning for mobile devices
- Knowledge of WebGL, WebGPU, OpenGL, GLSL shaders, compute shader and web workers desirable
- Deep understanding of React Native development practices,Typescript, CSS and Javascript skills
- Experience writing unit and functional tests using Jest.
- Good Knowledge of integrating third party Java or C++ libraries with React Native
- Writing clear, concise and well documented code.
Desirable Skills
- Portfolio of online links demonstrating previous web 3D projects highly desired
- Experience in developing performant 3D applications that combine React Native and Babylon Native highly desirable
- 3D digital asset creation in Blender a bonus but not essential
- Experience in writing automated test suites.
- Understanding of web standards and technologies (HTTP, CORS, browser caching, cookies, etc.)
- Experience with implementing user interfaces for robotics or remote operated vehicles
- Experience with real time or industrial communications protocols
