    Photo attached our first team meeting Evan, Vin, and I went back and forth for about three months talking about this idea on Facebook Messenger — coming up with features for the app, what it could include, and even throwing around outrageous ideas that none of us really knew how to do. We had an idea, but no idea how or what goes into building an app. (I guess a lot of people are in this situation but never take the next step — the step we’re about to take.) Evan, being the brains of the trust, found a great start-up company called Hyper Startup Studio , and he organised a meeting with the three of us and Robert from Hyper. This is absolutely where I stepped so far out of my comfort zone. I didn’t even know what a start-up was! So here we are — three guys, with jobs, with families, who play sport, who have horses, and who are about to step into something new — something we all believe in. Bite off more that we can chew??

    Another big milestone on the Recovr journey. We’ve officially closed our Seed round - raising ~$1M, led by Jordan Walsh from JWW Capital. It’s a huge step forward for Recovr as we continue to scale our AI Member Retention Platform across the fitness industry. Over the past year, we’ve grown fast here in Australia, proving that studios everywhere face the same challenge: understanding member behaviour early enough to actually make a difference. This round gives us the fuel to move quicker — expanding our team, deepening the product, and laying the foundations for our US launch next year. The problem we’re solving is universal, and the early traction we’ve seen here at home shows how big this can become globally. A massive thank you to our clients for trusting us with their member retention, to our investors for believing in what we’re building, and to our team who continue to execute at a level well above our size.     R.I.P. to “idea paralysis.” Some of the best startup ideas aren’t born in your head - they’re hiding in public. And you just need a way to mine them. I’ve built a strategy using thousands of public complaints. It starts with the thematics Y Combinator and top VCs are betting on. That gives you a directionally correct map of where momentum already exists. Then you go straight to where users complain the most: → Reddit: daily frustrations & broken workflows → G2: honest reviews from paying customers → Google: operational feedback → Facebook / Discord groups: hyper-specific pain inside real communities Then engineered a workflow to scrape patterns, validate demand, and rank opportunities. The result? It doesn’t feel like guessing. It feels like having a market research team analysing the internet for you. Here’s how it works: ➤ Drop in the spaces you want to analyse (subreddits, G2 categories, communities) ➤ It scrapes → summarises → surfaces recurring pains ➤ Ranks each by severity, frequency, willingness to pay, and cross-thread consistency ➤ Produces validated startup angles in minutes It mimics real customer sentiment. Surfaces patterns instantly. And hands you ideas with demand already behind them.     Where are all the sports trophies you won as a kid? Gathering dust in an old box? Broken? Lost? Yeah, me too. It's a shame really, as those achievements meant a lot when you won them. It's just that the cheaply made plastic vessel designed to represent the achievement didn't really matter that much. Well, David Johnson and Vincent Italiano have an idea that's gonna fix that! Introducing www.troph-e.app - a digital platform that will let players build a personal timeline of their real-life sporting journey, not in a dusty trophy cabinet, but through premium, non-fungible Troph-e’s collected in an app in their pocket. This app is set to modernise a universal ritual in local sport, giving players more meaningful recognition of their achievements. And for clubs and leagues, Troph-e will become a living, breathing digital record of their history (that's not to mention the money they can save!) Over the past few months, I've been helping the boys as they work with Hyper Startup Studio to take this from idea to pitch deck, brand, landing page, prototype and business plan.
