About the Role

  • Be based in either Sydney, or Melbourne

As an Assistant Category Manager - Trade within the Beer category, you are responsible for leading the end to end promotional planning rhythm, while working in close partnership with the Category Manager, Marketing and Supply Chain teams.

Within this role you will be required to have a strong knowledge of the category and a confidence in leveraging insights and data to achieve key sales and profit metrics. You will build and manage successful supplier relationships and have an intimate understanding of competitors, brands, consumer & shopper trends, along with customer focused promotional strategies that drive sustainable growth.

Here is a taster of what you can expect in this role:

  • Strategic Category Management: Plan and execute promotions to achieve strategic category objectives, ensuring alignment with marketing and customer trade plans.
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Consistently deliver on category sales and profit metrics, while providing weekly analysis and reports on promotions.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with suppliers, internal teams, and Pinnacle to deliver core business priorities, ensuring efficient and timely execution of promotions and product deliveries.
  • Promotional Administration and Support: Accurately manage end-to-end promotional administration, providing exceptional support to store teams for world-class promotional execution and timely resolution of issues.
  • Team Engagement and Continuous Improvement: Inspire and engage teams with positive actions, and continuously seek ways to improve, sharing and role-modelling these ideas to drive team and personal development.

What do we need from you

Now let’s talk about you:

  • You will have a minimum of 3+ years of experience in promotions management within a multi-channel buying environment, and a proven track record of delivering P&L results.
  • You will bring a strong understanding of category and channel management strategies, with the ability to leverage customer data and insights effectively.
  • You will collaborate with suppliers or stakeholders to achieve joint business goals and outcomes.
  • Knowledge in the category and a business/marketing degree are a plus.
  • Experience in a retail/FMCG environment desirable.
  • Industry experience and knowledge of the Beer category is also advantageous.
