As an avionics engineer, you will be required to work alongside fellow engineers as well as the wider organisation, contributing to the product development and R&D activities associated with developing orbital class satellites and launch vehicles.   • Possessing and providing in-depth knowledge on Avionics regulations, industry standards, processes and state-of-the-art research
  • Ensuring that engineering activities are conducted and documented in accordance with Gilmour Space policies, plans and procedures
  • Other duties as requested by Management

Minimum Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics, Computer Systems or Mechatronics Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in professional Avionics design engineering settings (excluding internships)
  • 3+ years of end-to-end Avionics product development experience
  • NV1 Security Clearance eligible
  • Demonstrated resilience in high stress situation

Desired Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in PCB development of analogue, digital and mixed signal circuits
  • Experience with hands on testing, troubleshooting and debugging electronics
  • Experience with baremetal, RTOS and embedded Linux software development
  • Experience with FPGA/SoC hardware and software development
  • Experience with mechanical design software (NX, Solidworks, Onshape)
  • Experience designing highly reliable products
  • Experience with the integration and verification of Avionics Units
  • Experience performing electronics analysis and test (circuit simulation, power budgets, thermal analyses)
  • Experience developing RF solutions (spectrum coordination, antenna design, RF modelling, link budgets, S-parameter / EMI testing)
