There will be many more exciting and innovative things to do.Act as a liaison between the design and manufacturing teams, ensuring that electronic assemblies are optimised for manufacturability. Provide expert input into the manufacturability of electronic components.Participate in design reviews with a focus on manufacturing feasibility, quality control, tooling requirements, and process optimisation.Prepare detailed documentation for manufacturing processes, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), inspection criteria, work instructions, and bills of materials (BOMs).Develop advanced in-house SMT PCBA manufacturing and test capabilities to a flight standard. Lead the commissioning of PCBA machines including stencil printer, pick-and-place, reflow soldering, PCB washing machine & x-ray inspection. Act as the primary point of contact for electronics/avionics production, including manufacturing troubleshooting and root cause analysis of manufacturing issues, investigating and implementing corrective actions for non-conforming components or processes.Lead supply chain development for electronics components, materials and externally manufactured assemblies.Update designs when necessary, in response to manufacturing issues, parts/material obsolescence, and system requirement changesLead continuous improvement efforts of established product to reduce issues, decrease manufacturing time, and lower costsDevelop training materials to enable onboarding and up-skilling of technicians.Deliver conformance to relevant NASA, IPC & ECSS standards.Mandatory Qualifications, Skills and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Electronics, Aerospace Engineering or closely related areas (Or equivalent experience).3+ years of experience working in a professional electronics setting.Strong understanding of electronics assembly fundamentals, including manual and automated PCB soldering techniques and NDT inspection/test methods.Understanding of PCB design and manufacturing standards e.g. IPC-A-610, IPC-J-STD-001 series & ISO 9001.Strong understanding of ESD standards e.g. ANSI/ESD S20.20Background in lean, including SPC, Time & Motion Study and Six Sigma.Understanding of automated SMT PCBA production.NV1 Security Clearance eligible preferred.Desired Qualifications, Skills and Experience:Master’s Degree in Manufacturing, Electronics or Aerospace EngineeringExperience in machine commissioning.Proficiency with common industry PCB design software tools e.g. AltiumInternships or experience within a highly regulated manufacturing industry (Aerospace, Medical etc.) will be highly regarded.Ability to work well in an integrated team including daily interactions with technicians, engineers, and managers.Creative problem solver that can bring multiple disciplines together.How to Apply:Applicants must be an Australian Citizen/Permanent Resident or have an appropriate Australian work visa or work entitlements.If you are a proactive team player with a passion to get Australia to space and a desire to succeed, please apply now by clicking the apply button and including your resume and cover letter or head to our website: CAREER | Gilmour Space Technologies | Rocket launch provider (gspace.com).
