How you will contribute to our mission in getting Australia to space:
The below is designed to give you an idea of the role you will play. There will be many more exciting and innovative things to do.
General Accounting
- Assist with the preparation and posting of routine journal entries.
- Support the month-end and year-end close processes.
- Perform basic account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records.
Financial Reporting Support
- Assist in gathering data for management reports and financial statements.
- Prepare supporting schedules and documentation as required.
- Help ensure reporting aligns with relevant accounting standards and company policies.
Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
- Process supplier invoices and employee expense claims.
- Assist with customer invoicing and payment allocation.
- Follow up on outstanding receivables and assist with credit control tasks.
- Help maintain AP/AR ledgers and resolve discrepancies.
Tax & Compliance Support
- Assist in preparing documentation for BAS/GST, payroll tax, and other statutory filings.
- Support the finance team in gathering information for external tax advisors.
- Help ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
Audit & Administration
- Prepare basic audit support documentation under supervision.
- Contribute to internal control reviews and process improvement initiatives.
- Perform general administrative duties to support the finance function.
Other
- General assistance in the Finance Department on accounting matters.
- Other duties as requested by the Chief Financial Officer / Financial Controller.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field (completed or near completion).
- Internship, work placement, or exposure to accounting tasks is advantageous but not required.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to learn quickly, work collaboratively, and manage competing priorities.
