Goldman Sachs Alternatives is a part of Goldman Sachs Asset and Wealth Management division (AWM).

Within AWM, the Financing and Debt Capital Markets team (“DCM”) is responsible for sourcing, negotiation and execution of financing agreements for funds and products managed by Goldman Sachs. The team ensures global consistency in terms and adherence to critical risk management principles, while managing the firm’s lender and counterparty relationships to originate and optimize debt capital for various investment products. This capital is a critical component of the performance we deliver to our investors.

We are currently seeking a Vice President in New York to support our financing and refinancing efforts for portfolio companies within our Private Equity funds and Sustainable Investing Group. The Private Equity Investing business within Goldman Sachs Asset Management has been operating for over 30 years. The business partners with experienced operators and management teams across multiple sectors, including healthcare, financials, business services and technology. The Sustainable Investing Group is the impact investing platform within Goldman Sachs Alternatives, deploying capital for Horizon funds family. The team manages dedicated strategies to capitalize on demand for mitigation, resilience and adaptation, fueled by a generational rise in energy consumption as well as opportunities in the inclusive growth space globally, with the goal of generating positive and measurable impact for our communities, alongside financial returns.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Negotiating and executing financing transactions for private equity portfolio companies in coordination with investment deal teams
  • Developing and maintaining key lending and debt advisory relationships within the private equity financing market
  • Supporting deal teams and portfolio company management teams in ongoing financing needs and in exit preparation/activity
  • Collaborating with DCM team members across other investment verticals to innovate new financing solutions

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant industry experience
  • Strong knowledge of alternative asset classes and financing structures
  • Experience within a fund capital markets team, large lending institution or debt advisor preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently while achieving successful outcomes
  • Strong analytical and technical skills
  • Experience with interest rate and FX hedges preferred
  • Ability to function well in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Exemplary work ethic and personal integrity

Salary Range
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $125000-$290000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
