Job Summary & Responsibilities

Goldman Sachs Asset and Wealth Management Division ("AWM") is a leading asset and wealth management business. AWM offers a broad product line consisting of all primary asset classes and maintains a global distribution platform designed to serve a diverse client base of institutions and individuals. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer of AWM, the Divisional Management team collaborates closely with senior management on leading projects impacting the growth of the division, as well as partnering with the leadership of AWM’s business units on specific financial issues, headcount and resource management, internal communications, talent and diversity priorities, and other strategic initiatives.

Duties & Responsibilities:

The work of the CAO team is both projects based, with typical durations spanning a few days to several months, as well as ongoing, including management of divisional plans, policies and programs. Projects vary in nature and require team members to utilize a wide range of analytical, critical thinking, problem solving, and relationship building skills. The CAO Analyst is expected to actively participate in projects and develop expertise in the data, operating infrastructure, establish relationships throughout the business, and communicate proposed solutions and results effectively. The CAO Analyst is expected to understand and organize large data sets and then create visual displays through Tableau, Powerpoint, and Excel to communicate key trends or observations, along with a set of recommended actions or next steps. They will serve as a technical expert for the team on data analytics/visualization across a variety of business planning contexts.

Basic Qualifications

  • 2 to 3 yrs of experience
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with demonstrated proficiency in building models in Excel
  • Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Tableau as the primary BI tool, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and alignment with divisional reporting standards and business planning needs.
  • Leverage Alteryx, Tableau to build automated data preparation and blending workflows, streamlining the ingestion, transformation, and cleansing of large and complex data sets from multiple sources to support the CAO team's analytical and reporting requirements.
  • Organized thinking and ability to drive processes and identify potential gaps or opportunities for improvement
  • Effectively communication and ability to present the broader strategic context or implications behind an analysis
  • Candidates must be extremely proactive and work well in a team environment, with the ability to excel as part of small project teams.
  • Candidates should be comfortable developing relationships throughout the firm and building networks within the division as well as with the federation areas.
  • All team members are required to work with significant volumes of data and systems.
  • Upon joining the team, candidates should expect a challenging, fast-paced environment that will require the ability to focus on and deliver multiple projects effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-Graduate in HR, Finance, Economics or Mathematics
  • Computer science background / programming experience / experience using Tableau / Alteryx
  • Experience with large data sets, technology and exposure to Asset Management, Management Consulting, or Investment Banking industries a plus
  • Experience in handling HR reporting and headcount related data sets a plus
