Alternatives Capital Formation (ACF) is part of the Client Solutions Group (CSG) within Asset & Wealth Management and is responsible for capital raising and strategy across private markets, including private equity, private credit, real estate, infrastructure, growth equity, sustainability, secondaries, GP stakes, and hedge funds / liquid alternatives.
Within ACF, professionals align to product verticals and collaborate across strategies to deliver portfolio-wide solutions, partnering closely with investment teams, client coverage, and wealth management partners.
YOUR IMPACT
Goldman Sachs Asset Management is seeking a Senior Associate / Vice President to join the Alternatives Capital Formation (ACF) team within Strategic Partnerships, focused on Asset-Based Finance (ABF) and Investment Grade Private Credit (IGPC).
This individual will play a key role in developing and executing bespoke strategic partnerships, including separately managed accounts and “fund-of-one” mandates, working closely with senior leadership, investment teams, and clients. The role sits at the intersection of investing, structuring, and capital formation, requiring familiarity with ABF / IGPC across investing, banking, and/or structuring.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Partner with the Head of Strategic Partnerships to originate, evaluate, and execute bespoke strategic partnership solutions, including separately managed “fund-of-one” mandates
- Lead or support the development of strategic partnership proposals from concept generation through execution
- Collaborate with investment teams to define portfolio construction approaches and articulate ABF / IGPC strategies to investors
- Translate complex alternatives strategies into clear, compelling client-facing materials
- Draft and deliver tailored LP proposals, presentations, and investment materials
- Coordinate cross-functionally with Legal, Risk, Compliance, Operations, Controllers, and Tax to support execution and ongoing client management
- Respond to investor inquiries and support diligence across institutional, private wealth, and third-party distribution channels
- Develop and maintain client materials, including portfolio construction analyses, performance reporting, quarterly updates, and RFP responses
- Assist in managing client portfolios, including performance monitoring and data analysis
- Track pipeline activity for strategic partnership opportunities and support ongoing development of existing mandates
- Drive process development and documentation to improve team efficiency and scalability
- Prepare materials for senior leadership discussions, client meetings, and internal approvals
- Leverage technology and data tools to support investor tracking, portfolio monitoring, and co-investment opportunities
- Serve as a resource to internal stakeholders by providing insight on ABF / IGPC strategies and platform capabilities
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Business, or related field with a strong academic record
- Senior Associate: ~3–5 years of relevant experience
- Vice President: ~5–8+ years of relevant experience
- Relevant experience in Asset Management, Investment Banking, Structured Credit, Private Credit, or related fields
- Familiarity with Asset-Based Finance (ABF) and/or Investment Grade Private Credit (IGPC), including exposure through investing, structuring, underwriting, or advisory roles
- Strong interest in private markets and alternatives investing
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable insights
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work
- Collaborative, team-oriented mindset with strong organizational skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to take initiative and drive projects forward
- Polished, professional presence with the ability to represent the firm effectively
