WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Your duties include but are not limited to:

  • PLC, HMI and SCADA program design and development
  • In-house simulation and testing as per detailed test documents and specifications
  • On site and in-house deployment and commissioning
  • Create, engineer, and finalise a controls design to meet project requirements
  • Interpret specifications, drawings, engineering data or a design brief to provide a controls system design solution
  • Project design & management
  • Equipment selection
  • Technical support
  • Electrical installation, including cabling and wiring
  • Installing, testing and commissioning industrial control and automation systems
  • Abiding by Goterra values, and tenets
  • Undertaking any other reasonable duties which fall within the remit of this role

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent

EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in a Control Systems Engineer role
  • Experience in Site commissioning
  • PLC programming with Allen-Bradley, Modicon or Siemens technology
  • SCADA programming experience with CitectSCADA, FactoryTalk or WonderWare
  • R&D on technology and systems (IIoT, control system, networking etc)

ESSENTIAL SKILL REQUIREMENTS :

  • Understanding of and familiarity with more than one discipline, e.g. electrical design, electronics, mechanical or mechatronics, computer science, process automation, and/or physics
  • Ability to ensure effective engineering practice and safe application of design and technology
  • Ability to developing and prepare design documentation
  • Programming and commissioning of systems from conception to completion

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS:

  • PLC system programming across at least two major vendors (EG: Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider)
  • SCADA and HMI configuration across at least two major vendors (EG: Rockwell, Siemens, Ignition , iFix, Wonderware, WinCC, PCS7, Citect etc)
  • Good knowledge of IT and OT networking fundamentals
  • FAT and SAT experience
  • Good understanding of industry coding standards/practices
