Who we’re looking for:

We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Commercial Manager to help accelerate our growth in Australia to join our Melbourne-based go-to-market team. You will bring refined Business Development and Account Management expertise to our Melbourne-based Go-to-market team. You will also have a technical understanding of the Australian energy industry and a passion for the Gridcog mission. If this sounds like you, please read on!

What you’ll do as a Commercial Manager:

  • Own strategic customer account relationships across both existing and target customer accounts.
  • Respond to in-bound customer inquires, qualifying and developing software pilot opportunities.
  • Develop account management plans for key client accounts - building strong relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring revenue retention, driving new revenue opportunities, and owning commercial outcomes.
  • Build your personal brand in the Australian energy industry by attending events and supporting Gridcog marketing activity including contributing to our thought leadership content (e.g. blogs and videos).
  • Manage customer contracting processes including 'vendor onboarding' for new customer contracts
  • Contribute to and maintain disciplined go-to-market commercial processes (including updating CRM)
  • Act as part of a team, supporting your colleagues globally in pursuit of company wide goals.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Demonstrated success in a business development and/or an account management role in the Australian energy industry.
  • Technical knowledge in or more of the following areas: wholesale energy markets, renewable energy and battery storage project development, or emobility projects.
  • Exceptional communication skills with a strong sense of customer empathy; you build strong and enduring relationships with your customers.
  • Ambition, energy and commercial drive. As well as comfort in ambiguity. Gridcog is a dynamic startup environment.

We’d also love it if you have:

  • Some analytical proficiency and project modelling experience - spreadsheets, python/R, or other modelling tools - you have some direct understanding of the challenges are customers face developing their projects.
  • A strong personal brand in the Australian energy industry.
  • Engaging and persuasive writing and presentation prowess.
  • Experience working in a startup, SaaS business or high growth company.
