Marketing and Content Associate - Video (w/m/f)
About us
The global energy transition is the biggest challenge and opportunity of the 21st century. Corporations, commercial entities, and suppliers (large and small) are realising the need to work towards a greener future - often by investing in renewable energy generation, adapting their electricity usage and commercial models.
At Gridcog, we’re on a mission to accelerate investment in the clean energy transition. We are a SaaS start-up of energy nerds on a mission to accelerate the energy transition by building the best project modelling software to enable our users to make intelligent energy decisions. Our software models the physical and commercial nuances of energy projects. This includes modelling renewable energy generation, flexibility and different commercial arrangements.
We started out in Australia in the summer of 2020, launched in the UK in 2023, and now we’re super excited to grow our team as we bring that success to Europe with the opening of our Berlin office.
Who we’re looking for
We’re seeking a confident, hands-on Marketing and Content Associate, with a focus on video, to help bring Gridcog’s story to life in Germany. You’ll be confident in creating LinkedIn appropriate video content - from planning and shooting, to editing and publishing - in addition to events management, social media scheduling, and have a keen eye for what ‘works’ and ‘doesn’t work’ on digital channels week-to-week.
This is a unique opportunity to be one of the first hires in our Berlin office, helping to kickstart our marketing presence in a new region. You’ll work closely with Dan, Marketing Manager, and Genna, Chief Commercial Officer in London, and an international team to adapt our successful UK and Australian content playbook for the German market, helping us generate leads and build brand awareness.
You’ll thrive if you’re a doer who loves creating, getting stuck in, and helping a brand stand out.
What you’ll do
Video Production & Creative Execution
- Film and produce video content in the Berlin office as part of Gridcog’s Thinking Energy series, to be released fortnightly, building a strong library of German-language and market-relevant videos.
- Edit video content for global content pipeline (Australia, GB, Germany) in line with the Thinking Energy style guide and brand playbook, while contributing new creative ideas and approaches.
Content Planning, Publishing & Coordination
- Collaborate with the Marketing Manager, internal stakeholders, and Berlin-based industry experts to plan and maintain a German-focused content calendar.
- Support the planning of video shoots, ensuring topics are approved, scripts are finalised, and energy analysts are prepared for filming.
- Upload and optimise website content in Webflow (Gridcog’s CMS) ensuring SEO best practices are applied and all EU landing pages remain up to date.
Events & Community Engagement
- Build and maintain a list of key thought leaders, and media contacts within the German energy and technology sectors.
- Monitor breaking news, trends, and emerging topics in the German market, flagging opportunities for timely engagement and thought leadership.
- Conduct ongoing market research into competitors, podcasters, events, and industry networks to inform Gridcog’s regional strategy.
- Lead with the logistics, and promotion of locally hosted and European events such as Gridcog Unplugged, E-world and Intersolar.
General Marketing Support
- Support the creation, scheduling, and distribution of newsletters and marketing content, ensuring all materials are accurate, on-brand, and consistent across teams.
You’ll be successful if you have:
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience in video production and editing, from concept to shooting, and editing to final cut.
- A self-starter mindset - you’re proactive, adaptable, and self-motivated. You’re happy working to tight deadlines, setting yourself clear goals and sticking to weekly cadences/schedules.
- Experience in content creation or marketing, ideally in a small team, startup, or fast-moving environment.
- A collaborative attitude, contributing positively to the energy and culture of our new Berlin office, and excited to engage with a global team of Gridcoggers.
- Fluency in the Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Premiere Pro & After Effects
- Excellent communication skills, for both internal and external audiences.
- You have an interest in/understanding of Germany’s energy transition and would be happy translating topics like renewable energy and energy markets into engaging content.
- Proficiency in Canva, Nutshell (or similar CRM), Webflow (or similar CMS)
- Fluency in both German and English (written and spoken).
- Right to work in Germany without employer sponsorship.
- Local to Berlin, happy travelling into the office at least 3 days a week
- Flexible to travel (UK office, events)
It’s a bonus if you have:
- Experience working in a startup or high-growth environment.
- Familiarity with SaaS, B2B, or clean energy industries.
- Graphic design experience, with a good eye for visual storytelling and brand consistency.
- Motion graphics or animation skills to help level up our video and brand execution.
- Experience with data and analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics) to inform content and campaign performance.
- Experience running or supporting paid campaigns, particularly on LinkedIn or other social platforms.
Benefits:
- Competitive remuneration package aligned with experience and skills
- Opportunity to be a founding member of a new Berlin-based team with flexible working arrangements
- Periodic travel to London to collaborate with our UK team
- Join a diverse start-up in the energy space and be part of a high-performing team that values innovation and creative problem-solving
