We are seeking a Linux Engineer, to join our Technology Platforms and Solutions team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the agency's ongoing transformation, as we enhance our role in combatting money laundering and Terrorism.

We are expanding our regulatory capabilities and undergoing significant digital transformation to support our growing agency and strengthen our impact.

You will play a crucial role in maintaining the security, stability and performance of the UNIX server systems that support AUSTRAC's critical operations. You will shape and enhance the services provided by AUSTRAC, ensuring that our technology platforms continue to evolve and deliver sustainable solutions to support our mission.

What are we looking for

Whilst we value technical expertise, we seek individuals who are coachable , self-motivated and are passionate about continuous learning .

You will receive training and support to sharpen your skills and become an expert with the specific environment and tools we use.

Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline, and/or equivalent work experience will also be highly regarded.

Key Duties

Support and maintain: the Linux server environment, ensuring its stability, security, and optimal performance.

Technical Issue Resolution: Collaborate with technical teams to identify and resolve escalated issues raised by stakeholders.

Backup Management: Maintain VMware, disk-to-disk, and tape backup environments.

Project Delivery: Contribute to improvement initiatives and delivering project work.

System Maintenance: Perform regular reviews and audits of the Linux environment.

Documentation: Ensure technical documentation is accurate and up-to-date.

Continuous Improvement: Identifying opportunities to enhance the network environment.
