More About The Community Marketing Coordinator Role At Hatch
Why this role exists
Community is at the heart of Hatch. We want every candidate and hiring manager who touches Hatch to feel seen, supported, and inspired to come back and tell their friends. You’ll build and scale programs that turn job seekers into advocates, and hiring managers into champions.
What you’ll do
Grow and engage our candidate community
- Run always-on community programs (content, slack/WhatsApp groups, newsletters) to support job seekers across their journey.
- Launch and manage Hatch Ambassadors and product-champion programs that drive referrals, UGC, and event hosting.
- Connect and celebrate people hired via Hatch ( “Hired with Hatch” features, give-back/mentorship loops).
- Own our VIP cohort of hiring managers: curated dinners, roundtables, and bespoke experiences.
- Build a consistent cadence (invites, follow-ups, recaps) that deepens relationships and creates advocacy and case studies.
- Source, pitch, and nurture partnerships with universities, faculties, societies, and professional associations.
- Coordinate on-campus activations (talks, workshops, micro-events) and co-branded content that drives quality sign-ups.
- Identify community influencers and equip them with briefs, assets, and incentives to run events and content with Hatch.
- Stand up community programs inside top customers (e.g., Qantas, Westpac) for interns/grads/early-career talent: onboarding circles, peer cohorts, lunch-and-learns, mentorship and career-development tracks.
- Curate practical learning pathways (job-search skills, portfolio reviews, interview practice) and collaborate with employers to deliver sessions that genuinely move careers forward.
- Own the community calendar, budgets, vendors, and logistics (venues, catering, swag).
- Track and report impact across growth and revenue metrics.
- Community growth: active members and engagement rate (opens/clicks, WAU in slack)
- Candidate outcomes: referral sign-ups, reactivation rate, “Hired via Hatch” stories per month/
- VIP employer impact: event attendance, NPS, warm intros, case studies, influenced job postings/pipeline.
- Partnerships: # of active university/pro org partnerships and sign-ups sourced per partner.
- Program velocity: ambassador cohorts launched, creator posts/events shipped per quarter.
You’ll thrive here if you
- Have 1-4+ years in community management, campus/programs, or partnerships (startups/tech ecosystem is a plus).
- Are a natural connector and event-runner—equally comfortable hosting a 14-person VIP dinner and a 200-person campus workshop.
- Write crisp, human copy and know what resonates on LinkedIn, IG/TikTok, email, and Discord/Slack.
- Are organised and outcome-driven—calendar, run-of-show, stakeholder comms, and post-event follow-through are your superpowers.
- Make decisions with data (you’re comfortable with simple dashboards and can turn insights into experiments).
- Love empowering others—ambassadors, creators, society leaders—so programs scale beyond you.
- Care deeply about early-career talent and equitable access to great jobs.
- Experience managing ambassador/creator programs
- A network across Australian universities or student/professional orgs.
- Exposure to hiring/talent products or communities.
🟢 Please consider applying even if you don't meet 100% of what’s outlined 🟢
