More about the Senior AI Program Lead role at Hatch

Strategic Projects Lead

Location: Sydney, AU Role Type: Full-time

The Mission

Hatch is at the center of the AI revolution, providing the critical talent that the world’s leading Frontier Labs need to build the next generation of models. We are looking for an elite operator to own the end-to-end execution of our AI training business.

This isn't just a project management role; it’s a systems-engineering role. You will be the primary interface between Hatch and the world’s most advanced AI companies, building the scalable machinery that allows us to deliver excellence at a frontier pace.

What You’ll Do

  • Client Partnerships: Act as the strategic lead for our AI Lab clients. You’ll deeply understand their technical requirements and ensure our delivery exceeds their benchmarks.
  • Architect Scalable Systems: Build and optimise the operational engine. We don’t want manual spreadsheets and sticky-taped processes; we want automated, AI-enhanced workflows that can handle massive scale.
  • First-Principles Problem Solving: When a bottleneck appears in a novel AI training workflow, you won't look for a playbook... you'll write it.
  • Scrappy Execution: You aren't afraid to get into the weeds to unblock a project, whether that's auditing data quality yourself or hacking together a tool to speed up a manual process.
  • AI-First Operations: Use LLMs and automation tools to enhance our internal productivity. You should be the "power user" who makes everyone else faster.

Who You Are

  • An Elite Operator: You likely have experience in top-tier management consulting (McKinsey/BCG/Bain) or have been an early, high-impact hire at a fast-growing startup.
  • Systems Thinker: You see the world in inputs, outputs, and feedback loops. You hate inefficiency and have a bias toward automation over headcount.
  • Technically Fluent: You don't need to be an ML Engineer, but you must be able to speak their language. You understand how LLMs work and are excited by the frontier of AI.
  • High Agency: You take extreme pride in ownership. If a client is unhappy or a system breaks, you own the solution from start to finish.
  • Ambitious: You likely have your sights set on the US AI ecosystem (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) in the future. This role is designed to give you the network and the "battle scars" to get there.

Why This Role?

  • The Network: Direct, daily exposure to the teams building AGI.
  • The Autonomy: We are a "bias-to-action" culture. You will have the space to build and the resources to move fast.
  • The Path: This is the ultimate stepping-stone for someone looking to transition into the global AI elite.

Before we jump into the responsibilities of the role. No matter what you come in knowing, you’ll be learning new things all the time and the Hatch team will be there to support your growth.

🟢 Please consider applying even if you don't meet 100% of what’s outlined 🟢
