Hatch is looking for power markets and energy trading professionals to support an AI research project with one of our partners through flexible, hourly contract work.

This is not a traditional job. You'll draw on your hands-on experience with power market analysis, energy trading, and power purchase agreement development to evaluate AI-generated content and provide feedback that helps AI better understand energy trading workflows and power market practices.

Note: This role is not with Hatch. It is with a partner AI lab.

Key details

• Start: Immediate
• Pay: $65 AUD per hour
• Duration: 3-week project, with the possibility of extension
• Hours: Up to 40 hours per week; no minimum hours
• Location: Fully remote, asynchronous schedule
  
  

This is a project-based opportunity that can be done alongside research, consulting, teaching, or industry employment.

You will be asked to complete real work tasks in a structured format, independently producing expert-level analytical work using the tools and workflows from your professional practice. This could include building price forecast models or developing PPA documentation.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of professional experience in renewable energy generation, forecasting, or environmental markets, in roles such as:
• Power Market Analyst or Power Trader
• Energy Trading Analyst
• Or equivalent roles in the energy industry
• Hands-on experience with one or more of the following tools:
• Salesforce
• AVEVA PI
• Bloomberg
• Or equivalent power markets, fundamentals, or trading platforms
• Strong written communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and asynchronously with AI research teams
