The Planning team combines strategic thinking with strong commercial and analytical capability. They forecast demand, optimise inventory, analyse performance and shape merchandise strategies that maximise profitability. Working closely with Buying, Marketing and suppliers, they play a key role in delivering commercial success while continually improving processes and ways of working.
We're looking for a Planning Manager to join the Men, Kids & Home team. Reporting to the Planning Director, you'll lead the planning function across the segment, driving strategy, profitability and team performance while partnering closely with cross-functional stakeholders to achieve business goals.
About the Role
- Drive the segment planning strategy while contributing to broader business objectives.
- Develop mid- to long-term commercial plans that support sustainable growth and profitability.
- Lead the creation and delivery of strategic planning packs backed by robust financial analysis.
- Lead company-wide category management projects from planning through execution.
- Analyse market, economic and consumer trends to proactively identify risks and opportunities.
- Partner closely with Buying to maximise seasonal performance and profitability.
- Monitor department performance, implementing actions to improve underperforming categories while unlocking growth opportunities.
- Shape promotional and marketing strategies to maximise results while protecting margin.
- Support company-wide planning and reporting initiatives.
- Build strong cross-functional relationships across Planning, Buying and key business teams.
- Lead, coach and develop a high-performing planning team while driving continuous improvement.
What It Takes
- Previous experience in merchandise planning, ideally within fashion e-commerce.
- 5+ years' experience leading merchandise planning teams.
- Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Strong commercial acumen and trading capability.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement.
- Experience building collaborative relationships across multiple business functions.
- A leadership style that inspires, develops and supports high-performing teams.
