You will be an essential member of the People & Culture Team, responsible for supporting various aspects of human resources, employee development, HRIS and talent acquisition. You will be instrumental in supporting the delivery of quality client outcomes through recruitment, talent sourcing and management, HR documentation and onboarding processes. The role will also provide HR operational support and contribute to initiatives that support the execution of key people and culture initiatives and the HR calendar of activities to support business performance.

Responsibilities

Employee Relations

  • Assisting and guiding people leaders with queries around policies, leave, compensation, wellbeing, recognition, absenteeism, terminations.

  • Updating policies based on changes to the Fair Work Act, relevant legislation, and best practice. Keeping up to date with other leading industry practices and making recommendations.

HR Project Management

  • Assisting the People & Culture Director in the annual performance and remuneration review. Helping people leaders understand the performance descriptors, applying the performance ratings consistently, helping with calibration sessions.

  • Assisting the Head of Performance & Reward with the annual remuneration review, confirming benchmarking, role changes, helping produce and check remuneration statements.

  • Leading the co-ordination of the annual WGEA Gender Equality Reporting. Completing reporting templates, coordinating information with the payroll manager and responsible for successful project management and uploading to the WGEA portal meeting all deadlines.

  • Helping with the co-ordination to maintain the WGEA Employer of Choice for Gender Equality Citation – gathering evidence, keeping abreast of reporting requirements, ensuring we meet our annual obligations against the criteria.

  • Execute against the annual calendar of HR activities and programs to ensure partnership across HR team, collaboration with the business and on time delivery.

  • Proactively preparing HR reports for headcount reporting, terminations, annual leave and following up with the business. Managing and issuing changes to employment contracts, change of roles, parental leave.

  • Supporting the People & Culture Director with any organizational changes such as restructures and hybrid working arrangements.

Health & Safety

  • Assisting people leaders with queries around workplace health and safety, any incidents or near misses, helping execute any actions from the WH&S committee meetings. Helping co-ordinate the annual flu shots.

Talent Acquisition

  • Responsible for ownership and accountability of the delivery of talent acquisition and related Workday systems and processes.

  • Partner with hiring leaders to manage recruitment, providing advice, coaching and guidance to hiring managers on interviewing techniques, completing initial phone screens with both internal and external candidates, and making recommendations for interview.

  • Scheduling interviews, overseeing pre-employment check process, overseeing and escalating approval requirements, as necessary. Issuing employment contracts.

Learning & Development

  • Assisting when required the Head of Learning with engagement survey planning, learning nominations and learning initiatives as well as the DEI schedule of events.

HR Systems

  • Provides technical guidance & support to line managers for Workday and completing transactions in Workday when required.

  • Workday backup for Systems Specialist. Performing system administration tasks, ensuring data integrity, and assisting with troubleshooting and resolving system issues.

  • Payroll backup for the Payroll Manager. Manage the full payroll cycle if required. Stay informed of payroll processes.

Qualification and attributes

  • Human Resources related degree

  • You will have 3 + years’ experience with HR systems managing recruitment, core employee data, policy development, compensation, managing queries.

  • Demonstrated passion for customer service.

  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking capability to resolve issues that may arise in technology and processes with a high-level attention to detail.

  • Strong results orientation and a track record for delivering required outcomes and meeting deadlines.

  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to improve processes and procedures.

  • Persuasive communication and relationship building skills.

  • Project management experience

  • Demonstrated high degree of computer literacy.

  • Initiative-taking and driven approach, able to identify challenges and suggest solutions before problems arise.

  • Able to manage sensitive information with discretion, and tactful when dealing with delicate situations.
