The Role
We are seeking a highly analytical and motivated Financial Analyst to join our finance team. This role is critical in supporting strategic decision-making through robust forecasting, insightful financial reporting, and cross-functional collaboration. You will lead the company’s forecasting and long-term planning processes, manage the preparation of monthly management accounts and cost centre analysis, and support our capital raising activities. You will also play a key role in managing our employee share ownership plan (ESOP) and supporting broader FP&A and financial operations activities.
Forecasting & Planning
- Lead the annual budget, reforecast and long-term planning cycles
- Collaborate with department heads to consolidate inputs and provide strategic insight
- Develop scenario analyses and financial models to support decision-making and board reporting
Management Reporting
- Prepare monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting
- Deliver cost centre analysis and commentary, highlighting key drivers and variances
- Partner with cost centre owners to improve cost visibility and financial accountability
Fundraising Support
- Support the preparation of financial information, investor decks, and due diligence materials
- Assist with cap table management and financial modelling for equity/debt scenarios
Ad Hoc Financial Analysis
- Perform deep-dive analysis on business performance, unit economics, and operational efficiency
- Support commercial and strategic initiatives with financial insight and modelling
- Assist with board reporting, audit processes, grant reporting and compliance requirements
- Administer and maintain the company’s ESOP plan, including option grants, vesting schedules, and reporting
About You
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or related discipline
- 2–4 years’ experience in financial analysis, FP&A, or commercial finance (biotech or tech/start-up experience highly regarded but not essential)
- Strong Excel and financial modelling skills; experience with forecasting tools and accounting systems (e.g., Xero, NetSuite, etc.)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to engage with stakeholders across all levels
- Experience in an established organisation having seen what good looks like
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable working with and implementing new systems and processes
- CPA/CA qualification or progression towards one is desirable
