About this role and the work
Karbon is looking for a Content Marketing Coordinator with a passion for creating genuinely valuable, high-quality, and diverse content that helps deliver on pipeline and revenue targets. You will assist in some areas and own others, working with a great team to execute a broad strategy and play a significant role in driving our next phase of growth.
We are on a mission to build our blog and resource site, Karbon Magazine, into the world's leading online publication for accounting professionals globally, and this role will play a key part in realizing that.
You will contribute to the planning, execution and distribution of resources, tools, tips, ebooks, guides, webinars, SEO content, and more. All aimed at helping people in the accounting profession become better leaders and business owners, and grow the Karbon brand in the process.
As such, you need to love writing and curating the right messages for the right audiences, with impressive attention to detail. Speaking of, there’s a typo in this job description—if you choose to apply, make sure you mention it in your application.
Some of your main responsibilities will include:
- Crafting high-quality content—from ideation and research, through to drafting, publishing and distribution—that will inspire, educate and entertain our target audience.
- Reviewing, editing and proofreading articles written by others.
- Optimizing new and existing content for SEO performance to contribute to the organic growth of Karbon Magazine.
- Assisting with larger pieces of content, including eBooks, guides and webinars.
- Publishing content via our CMS, Contentful, including selecting imagery, formatting, and editorial curation.
- Writing material to assist with content distribution across channels including social media, outbound sales, customer engagement and Karbon Community
- Assisting with the planning, creation and scheduling of emails, newsletters and webinars.
- Working closely with marketing team members, and other members of the wider team including contract writers.
- Upholding and championing Karbon's editorial standards, as well as our brand's tone and voice, to ensure consistent and high-quality communication across all Karbon channels.
- Tracking the performance of content marketing activities and understanding the goal of each piece of content and how it contributes to the wider marketing and company objectives.
- Becoming an expert in how accountants talk, think, and the challenges that keep them up at night.
- Leveraging tools and apps—like AI where it makes sense— to help you work smarter.
About you
If you’re the right person for this role, you:
- Have 2+ years of experience in a marketing, communications, journalism, or similar role.
- Love writing—you’re great with words, you believe in content marketing, you can get a point across in a sucinct and concise manner, can adapt to different audiences, and you genuinely enjoy it.
- Possess unparalleled attention to detail, especially while multitasking—you will be handling many pieces of content at the same time, and you need to be able to flawlessly execute each one of them.
- Show a proven ability to multitask (see above) and are a team player—you will be working with team members in Australia, New Zealand, the UK and the US.
- Must have a basic understanding of SEO best practices (more than basic is a bonus!).
- Understand the importance of feedback, with the ability to take suggestions on board (and not personally).
- Love working with technology—we use an unusually large number of apps and tools to get our work done. Some of them you’ll know, others you won’t. You need to be a quick learner when it comes to tech and enjoy it.
- Might have a degree of some sort—if so, that’s great, but it’s not essential. We aren’t looking for someone with theoretical skills, it’s your attitude that we care about the most.
- Are eager to learn and grow, hungry to make things happen, can accept feedback, enjoy a laugh, and are a good person.
- Have initiative, a can-do attitude, and the ability to take ownership of many responsibilities.

Bonus bits:
- Experience in the accounting industry and/or SaaS industry is a bonus.
- Experience with Contentful, Account Engagement (Pardot), Salesforce, Wistia, and Google Analytics.
