Job Description

Our Enterprise Technology & System Integration team brings together skills in intelligent automation, data engineering, software integration and cloud platforms to help our clients align their technology capabilities with their strategic and operational objectives. We also draw on KPMG’s extensive national and global resources, adopting a multidisciplinary approach to help unlock the full potential of existing and new technology investments.

As a Modern Work Engineer, you’ll be responsible for designing, building, and delivering secure, scalable, and user-friendly modern workplace solutions for our clients, leveraging the Microsoft technology stack. You’ll work across Microsoft 365, Windows 11, Microsoft Intune, SharePoint Online, Teams, Entra ID, and emerging technologies like Copilot for Microsoft 365 to enable seamless collaboration, intelligent productivity, and streamlined device and application management.

You’ll be a trusted advisor to clients, helping modernise their end-user computing environments and supporting the transition to cloud-first, AI-enabled digital workplaces.

Your Opportunity

  • Architect and implement Microsoft modern workplace solutions, including:
    • Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Microsoft Teams)
    • Windows 11 deployment and configuration
    • Microsoft Intune (including Autopilot, configuration profiles, compliance policies, application deployment)
    • Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD), including Conditional Access and identity governance
    • Microsoft Defender for Endpoint and endpoint security baselines
    • Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365 enablement and AI readiness
  • Lead modern desktop and mobile device deployment projects, integrating identity, security, and automation best practices.
  • Support hybrid and remote work enablement strategies with a focus on Zero Trust principles.
  • Design and configure collaboration and communication solutions using Teams and SharePoint Online, including governance and lifecycle management.
  • Apply scripting (e.g., PowerShell) and policy-as-code approaches to support automation, repeatability, and compliance.
  • Work closely with clients, architects, and PMs to define technical designs and delivery plans aligned to business needs.
  • Contribute to internal capability development, including reusable patterns, deployment accelerators, and knowledge sharing.

How are you extraordinary?

  • You have attention to detail and focus on high-quality output
  • You are experienced and comfortable with dealing with ambiguity
  • You have demonstratable experience in solving complex problems

Your Experience

At KPMG, we believe diversity of thought, background and experience strengthens relationships and delivers meaningful benefits to our people, our clients, and communities. To be considered for this opportunity, your qualifications, skills & experience will include:

  • You are an experienced modern workplace engineer who has delivered Microsoft 365 and Windows-based solutions in enterprise or consulting environments.
  • You’re confident implementing endpoint management using Intune, Windows Autopilot, and mobile application management strategies.
  • You understand cloud identity and access management, including Entra ID, Conditional Access, and MFA configurations.
  • You are proactive in learning and applying new Microsoft capabilities — especially Copilot for Microsoft 365 and the broader AI-powered Microsoft ecosystem.
  • You’re comfortable engaging with clients to understand business drivers and can translate these into practical, secure, and scalable technical designs.
  • You thrive in collaborative delivery teams and can lead engineering workstreams from design through implementation and handover.

Desirable Experience

  • Deploying cloud-native EUC environments across multiple device form factors (laptops, tablets, mobile)
  • Application packaging and delivery via Intune and Microsoft Store for Business
  • SharePoint Online architecture for intranet and document management solutions
  • Microsoft Teams lifecycle management, including governance and security
  • Automation using PowerShell and Microsoft Graph API
  • Familiarity with Copilot extensibility, data access governance, and licensing readiness
