As part of KPMG’s Infrastructure, Assets & Places group, our Commercial Advisory & Transactions team are industry leaders providing specialist transaction, commercial, and financial advice to support investment decisions for major infrastructure projects and complex commercial procurements.
Our work spans all major infrastructure sectors including transport, energy, social infrastructure (health, housing, education, justice, and community infrastructure), national security, real estate and places, and water.
Our team understands the challenges in delivering projects across the full project lifecycle, and we thrive on this complexity. We are a market leader, and we are advising on some of Australia’s most significant projects.
To support continued infrastructure investment, we are looking for a Manager to join our Commercial Advisory & Transactions team based in Canberra.
You will play a key role working as part of a team in providing financial and commercial advice on major projects across every stage of the lifecycle, from investment decision and business case, through procurement and transaction processes, throughout the delivery phase and into operations.
About the opportunity
The manager role in our Commercial Advisory & Transactions team is broad-ranging and will include:
- Delivering transaction strategy and delivery model analysis.
- Supporting in the preparation of commercial and financial advice for the planning, procurement, and delivery of projects.
- Developing business cases and reviewing procurement and delivery options analysis.
- Assisting with go-to-market strategies and help with market sounding activities.
- Drafting procurement process documentation for interactive, multi-phase processes (e.g., EOI, RFP).
- Supporting tender processes, including managing electronic data rooms, RFIs, and evaluation activities.
- Developing financial models and undertaking financial analysis.
- Prepare and support approvals documentation such as briefing papers, reports, and memorandums during procurement processes.
- Coordinating inputs from different stakeholders (e.g., design, engineering, legal, environmental, etc) into transaction and procurement documents.
- Applying knowledge of relevant sectors (transport, energy, social infrastructure, defence, real estate, water) to support project delivery.

- Relevant experience based on the role description above (for example, professional services firms, government infrastructure or commercial procurement teams, commercial law, government treasury or finance departments, investment banking or infrastructure funds).
- Highly developed written and oral communication skills
- Strong attention to detail.
- Experience undertaking financial analysis and modelling.
- Ability to manage a deliverable from end-to-end.
- A passion for doing work that matters and thriving on the challenge of solving complex problems, juggling competing demands, and working as part of a team in delivering solutions in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Based in Canberra or willing to relocate.
Ability to obtain baseline security clearance is a requirement for the role.

Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in commerce, finance, economics, law, engineering, or a similar discipline would be highly desirable.
