Our Customer Intelligence team contributes specialist skills of primary and secondary research to provide deep insights to enable data-driven strategic decisions.
Your Opportunity
To support our growth ambition and strong pipeline, we are now seeking a Research Manager to join our Customer Intelligence team. In this role you will support a wide range of engagements across transformation, customer strategy, customer experience, marketing and brand development. You will be hands-on in planning, designing, executing, analysing and reporting custom research to meet the needs of the engagement.
You will work closely and collaboratively with the national KPMG Consulting team across a wide range of clients in public and private sectors to lead the delivery of quality customer research and insights for our clients.
This position is ideal for individuals with experience in either a Consulting environment, a market research agency or a client-side insights role, who are seeking the opportunity to broaden their expertise across multiple clients and industries. This role will empower you to undertake challenging and rewarding work by utilising your leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills in a supportive and dynamic environment.
You will play a crucial role by:
- Providing expert guidance on research and analysis methodology, including advanced qualitative and quantitative approaches, to clients and KPMG team members.
- Support business development activities including proposal design, development and drafting commercial offers.
- Lead engagement management including budget and resource allocation, manage third parties, manage all aspects of client deliverables.
- Be hands-on in analysing both qualitative and quantitative data, applying your well-developed problem-solving skills to draw insights into client challenges and suggest relevant actions.
- Utilize your excellent communication skills to prepare and present impactful reports.
- Using and experimenting with current and emerging digital tools for fieldwork, data analysis and presentation.
- Engage and build strong relationships with our clients and KPMG teams across a broad range of sectors including financial services, corporates, government, energy, technology and media.
- Support Directors and Partners in delivering client engagements to a consistently high standard of accuracy, project management and timeliness.

- Experience: Demonstrate strong hands-on research/insights/analytics experience within a business to business or consulting environment.
- Technical skills: End-to-end design of primary market research.
- Analytical skills: Use software (e.g. DisplayR/ Q) to analysis data, identify relationships and develop relevant insights.
- Communication skills: Ability to clearly articulate ideas, visualise data, storytelling from data, contribute to client deliverables, and support presentations.
- Project management: Strong attention to detail, allocating resources within budget, and managing expectations of engagement leaders.
- Requirements: Degree in relevant field e.g. business, commerce, market research, data science, mathematics, statistics, psychology) and currently authorised to work in Australia without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future
