KPMG

KPMG

Perth, WA, Australia
Posted on Mar 10, 2026

Company Description

As the energy sector shifts toward a cleaner, more sustainable future, KPMG’s Energy team, within the Commercial Advisory and Transactions group, is helping to shape what comes next. We work at the intersection of complexity and innovation, offering clients strategic, financial, transactional, technical and commercial insights, to navigate this important energy transition.

Embedded within the Infrastructure, Assets & Places group, our team brings deep expertise across the full energy infrastructure lifecycle, from planning and development, through to decommissioning and closure. With access to KPMG’s broader network of specialists, we deliver truly integrated energy advisory services.

Job Description

This role gives you the opportunity to work on meaningful, complex and high-impact projects in the energy sector. We are open to full-time or part-time working arrangements.

We are looking for someone to:

  • Lead specialist teams across a range of projects, delivering regulatory, market and commercial advice to government and non‑government clients on key policy issues and investment opportunities.
  • Draw on your experience in the energy (or related) industry to interpret, analyse and respond to complex client and industry needs.
  • Apply critical thinking to develop innovative, practical and evidence‑based solutions to complex challenges.
  • Support our delivery of strategic, commercial, analytical, technical and financial advice that is industry leading.

How are you extraordinary?

  • You thrive in a collaborative, client‑focused environment and are eager to gain exposure to energy projects and initiatives while continuing to expand your knowledge of the sector.
  • You enjoy providing strategic and commercial advice to clients on policy development and implementation, including market reforms, business cases, strategy, and transaction processes across energy, water and utility‑related projects.
  • You are analytical, innovative, and enjoy solving complex problems.
  • You have a strong understanding of - or a genuine passion for - emerging value propositions in the energy sector, such as electric vehicles, hydrogen, solar & storage, and demand‑side response.
  • You can support clients in developing and implementing energy policy across areas such as renewable energy developments, standalone power systems, hydrogen, energy storage, and other components of the energy transition.
  • You are motivated to contribute to significant deals and initiatives that drive progress toward net‑zero emissions.
  • You want to help solve some of Australia’s most significant energy transition, climate change, decarbonisation, or net zero emissions challenges and you are looking for a team focused and dedicated to these challenges!

Your Experience

At KPMG, we believe diversity of thought, background and experience strengthens relationships and delivers meaningful benefits to our people, our clients, and communities. We look for team members who bring qualifications, skills & experience that could include:

  • Career experiences across the energy transition, investment decision making, climate change and decarbonisation.
  • The ability to provide strategic, commercial, financial advice and developing financial or energy market models.
  • Preparing briefing documentation for tenders, submissions, and investor memorandums, running financial and market models, supporting transaction strategy and analysis or policy development and implementation.
  • The ability to prepare client deliverables, business cases, feasibility studies, reports, presentations, or financial analysis to support client decisions.
  • Recent professional experience in corporate advisory, management consultancy, engineering consultancy, accounting or law firms, government, energy regulatory bodies, investment banking, project finance teams, infrastructure funds, development or construction firms or within commercial or infrastructure teams in operational businesses.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Commerce, Economics, Law, or other relevant subjects.
