Job Description
Your Opportunity
We are expanding our Valuation Services practice and are seeking talented professionals at the Manager or Associate Director level to join our Sydney team.
If you're an experienced valuation specialist ready to take the next step in your career, we'd love to hear from you. We're seeking a commercially minded professional with a strong foundation in valuation work and the confidence to lead engagements, drive client outcomes, and mentor junior team members. While direct valuation experience is preferred, we'll also consider candidates from corporate finance, financial modelling, investment or superannuation funds, corporate clients, or related advisory backgrounds who can demonstrate deep valuation capabilities.
In this role, you will:
- Lead valuation engagements from planning through to delivery, taking ownership of project execution and client outcomes.
- Work on business development initiatives, including proposals and internal initiatives, contributing to the growth of our services and capabilities.
- Use data analytics, simulations, and visualisation tools to solve complex valuation and modelling challenges.
- Identify key performance indicators and value drivers across companies, industries, and transactions.
- Deliver insightful valuation reports that articulate assumptions, methodologies, and findings, balancing commercial and technical considerations.
- Build, review, and interpret financial models for businesses and projects.
- Apply critical thinking to identify issues and collaborate with colleagues across Deal Advisory.
- Engage directly with clients to understand business performance, cash flow forecasts, and valuation drivers, while contributing to building long-term client relationships.
- Leverage both traditional and innovative valuation methodologies to assess the value of assets, equity, and debt instruments.
- Coach and manage junior team members, fostering their development and ensuring high-quality deliverables, while overseeing workstreams, reviewing outputs, and contributing to the successful delivery of client engagements.
How Are You Extraordinary?
- You are a curious and analytical thinker who enjoys uncovering insights and telling compelling stories through data.
- You bring experience in delivering valuation advice that makes a tangible impact for clients.
- You are detail-oriented, proactive, and committed to accuracy and meeting deadlines.
- You thrive in a collaborative environment and bring a solutions-focused mindset, using the right tools and support to overcome challenges.
- You have the confidence and capability to prepare marketing proposals, pitch packs, and undertake the analysis and evaluation of target opportunities.
Your Experience
At KPMG, we believe that diversity of thought, background, and experience drives better outcomes for our people, clients, and communities. We welcome applications from individuals with:
- Demonstrated experience in valuations (Income, Market, and Cost approaches) or corporate finance within a corporate advisory, in-house support team, or professional services environment.
- Strong analytical and report-writing skills, with the ability to distil complex information into actionable insights.
- A commercial mindset, resilience, and a collaborative spirit, with a drive to innovate and improve how we work.
- Relevant technical qualifications or progress toward postgraduate certifications (e.g., CA, CFA) are desirable but not essential.
- Proficiency in Excel-based financial analysis and financial modelling experience.
- Strong report-writing skills to articulate financial analysis and commercial considerations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusted relationships at all levels.
- Strong project management capabilities, with a track record of delivering multiple engagements simultaneously.
