About the role
Join our team as a Senior Accountant, utilising your expertise to advise small business clients and identify opportunities to upsell additional services and advice. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Business advisory calls with a wide range of business clients in a diverse range of different industries.
  • Identify opportunities to upsell advisory calls into tax compliance plans and/or formal tax advice.
  • Advise clients on various accounting and tax-related matters including:
    • the benefits of different structures including family trusts and multiple company structures.
    • GST-related questions.
    • Personal services income questions.
    • Optimal way for clients to get cash out of their business’.
    • Best practices for managing accounting software files.
    • Finance function and bookkeeping questions.
    • ESOP best practices and how it may work for client’s businesses.
    • Other accounting and tax advice questions as they arise.
  • Utilise Lawpaths custom software to summarise advisory calls and schedule future calls.
  • Research tax rulings, tax determinations and tax legislation to provide relevant and up to date tax advice.

About you:

The ideal candidate will:

  • Minimum 4+ years’ of experience in a chartered accounting firm in Australia.
  • CA or CPA qualified.
  • Strong communication and effective problem-solving abilities, combined with the capacity to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, and more is highly desirable.
  • Be a strong communicator and enjoy building long-lasting relationships.
