POSITION OVERVIEW
We’re looking for a motivated, creative, and sales-driven Outbound Lead Development & Social Media Associate to join our growth organization. This role blends outbound sales development, digital marketing, and community engagement to drive top-of-funnel growth, leads, and brand awareness.
You’ll spend part of your week executing high-quality outbound prospecting campaigns—identifying and engaging tech founders who could benefit from Lighter’s funding—and the rest amplifying our brand across LinkedIn, founder networks, and key online communities.
This position reports to the Head of Marketing and works closely with our Sales and Business Development teams to build a pipeline, generate qualified meetings, and contribute directly to revenue growth.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Social Media & Online Engagement
- Manage and publish engaging daily content for the Lighter Capital LinkedIn page that drives visibility and inbound interest.
- Create posts that highlight customer success stories, growth milestones, and industry insights to position Lighter as the go-to funding partner for tech founders.
- Actively engage in startup conversations on Reddit, Slack groups, and other communities to increase brand awareness and identify new prospects.
- Partner with Sales to enhance their social selling efforts—boosting LinkedIn presence, SSI scores, and outreach effectiveness.
- Collaborate on developing content that supports outbound campaigns and lead generation initiatives.
Outbound Lead Development
- Research and build high-quality prospect lists using tools like LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Apollo, and Seamless.ai.
- Launch and manage outbound sequences that drive discovery calls and new qualified leads for the Sales team.
- Personalize outreach across email, social, and phone to create meaningful engagement with early-stage startup founders.
- A/B test messaging and track response rates to improve conversion and pipeline velocity.
- Maintain detailed activity and results in Salesforce and Outreach.io to ensure accurate tracking and performance reporting.
Event & Webinar Marketing
- Coordinate and promote webinars and virtual events that educate founders about Lighter’s financing solutions.
- Support planning and outreach for founder meetups, accelerators, and industry conferences.
- Partner with Sales to follow up on event-generated leads and measure conversion into pipeline opportunities.
Analytics & Optimization
- Report weekly on outbound and social performance metrics—meetings booked, engagement rates, lead quality, and campaign ROI.
- Provide insights on what messaging and channels are driving the highest conversion.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to refine outreach strategy and improve lead-to-opportunity conversion rates.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
- 0–2 years of experience in sales development, marketing, or lead generation (internship or early-career experience welcome).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a knack for persuasive messaging.
- Proficiency with LinkedIn, Salesforce (or similar CRM), and outreach tools such as Outreach.io.
- Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and curiosity about the startup and venture ecosystem.
- Excited by the idea of building pipeline, hitting goals, and contributing directly to revenue growth.
