Brand Designer
Lyka Pet Food
About Lyka:
Lyka was founded in 2018 by Anna Podolsky, inspired by her dog, Lyka, who was suffering from chronic health issues despite being on “premium” kibble. Together with Gabriel Guedes (COO) and Dr. Matthew Muir (Integrative Veterinarian), they built Lyka from the ground up with one core belief: better food can radically improve a pet’s healthspan and quality of life.
Lyka’s meals are vet-formulated and gently cooked from real food ingredients. Delivered via a flexible subscription model, Lyka meals have driven remarkable improvements for tens of thousands of customers, supporting gut health, reducing intolerances, improving energy and mobility, and even promoting hair growth.
What began as home-cooked meals has since scaled into one of Australia’s fastest-growing consumer companies, a vertically integrated, tech-enabled brand that is transforming pet health nationwide.
Lyka now operates from two offices, Sydney (HQ) and Melbourne, with three state-of-the-art food production facilities (two in Sydney, one in Melbourne) and a growing national footprint.
At Lyka, we’re not just selling pet food—we’re pioneering a new standard of wellness for pets. With strong product-market fit, deep customer love, and a track record of rapid growth, we’re now entering our most ambitious chapter yet: building a generational brand and category-defining business with global impact.
The Role
We’re looking for a brand-obsessed, creative, and highly motivated Brand Designer to join our in-house marketing team at Lyka HQ in Alexandria. You’ll work side-by-side with our Senior Designers and the wider creative crew to craft thoughtful, elevated designs that bring our brand to life, balancing storytelling with performance and impact.
This is a hands-on role in a fast-moving, collaborative team that loves creating beautiful work with purpose. One day you might be dreaming up scroll-stopping social ads, the next you’re refining packaging concepts or designing for a new product launch. You’ll take projects from rough idea to polished delivery, helping shape how Lyka shows up in the world as our brand continues to grow.
We’re after someone confident in their craft, comfortable wearing a few creative hats, and energised by collaboration. You’ll love solving design challenges, experimenting with ideas, and bringing a sharp eye for detail to everything you touch. Most of all, you’ll connect with Lyka’s mission and have a genuine love for dogs, wellness, and design that makes a difference.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll create bold, high-quality assets across digital, print, web, packaging, and social. You’ll play a key role in evolving Lyka’s visual identity and ensuring brand consistency across every touchpoint, from campaign concepts and product launches to internal projects. Working closely with marketing, product, and people teams, you’ll translate briefs into compelling, on-brand designs that engage and inspire.
Alongside your design work, you’ll help refine and maintain our brand guidelines and design systems, ensuring we’re always raising the bar creatively. You’ll manage multiple projects with ease, balancing creativity with deadlines and clear communication. And as part of a tight-knit creative team, you’ll contribute ideas, collaborate in brainstorms, and help push the brand forward across every channel, including digital experiences with our product team.
What You’ll Bring
You’ll have around four or more years of design experience under your belt, ideally in FMCG, lifestyle, retail, or a creative agency environment, paired with a qualification in design, visual communication, or a related field. You’re confident taking ideas from concept to execution, with strong design and art direction skills and a solid grasp of how to connect creativity with strategy.
You’re fluent in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite, and you’ve got a sharp eye for detail, craft, and cultural relevance. You take pride in consistency, care about every pixel, and can spot when something feels off (and know exactly how to fix it). You love owning projects, collaborating with others, and bringing a positive, proactive approach to feedback and teamwork. Above all, you’re passionate about brand building, storytelling, and exploring new creative ideas that move the needle.
Your Portfolio
We’re looking for a portfolio that shows your creative thinking and attention to craft, work that not only looks great but feels intentional. Show us how you’ve built or evolved brand identities and brought them to life across different touchpoints, from digital and social to print and packaging. We also want to see how you’ve worked within established brand systems while still finding ways to push boundaries and keep things fresh.
