MA Financial Group (ASX: MAF) is a diversified financial services firm specializing in asset management, lending, and corporate advisory. As part of our continued growth, we are looking for a detail-oriented Venue Accountant to join our finance team. This is an immediate start role.

About the Role

As a Venue Accountant, you will be responsible for the accurate end-to-end processing of accounting information and supporting the month-end close process. You will work as part of a high-performing, commercially focused finance team and contribute to financial accuracy and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Revenue and Cash Assurance

• Review and process Daily Takings Summary (DTS) including petty cash
• Reconcile revenue between the general ledger and DTS
• Prepare bank account and clearing account reconciliations
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner

General Accounting and Reporting

• Review allocations of transactions in general ledger accounts
• Prepare journals for accruals, prepayments, and stock adjustments
• Maintain and reconcile schedules for accruals, prepayments, and stock
• Perform variance analysis against budget/forecast

Communication and Collaboration

• Respond to internal and external queries professionally and promptly
• Work closely with other team members to share knowledge and drive efficiency

Additional Responsibilities

• Support external audits and compliance reviews
• Assist in the preparation of payroll tax and FBT returns
• Contribute to budget data collation and weekly reporting
• Perform ad hoc tasks as needed

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in general accounting, including month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations
• Strong Excel skills and familiarity with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a plus)
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• A team player with a solutions-oriented mindset
• Experience in hospitality, retail, or high-volume environments is an advantage
• CPA is preferred but not required
• Must be available to start immediately
