About the Role
The Fund Accountant plays a key role in supporting MA’s Global Credit Solutions business and fund suite. This role offers ownership of five private credit funds and contributes to maintaining accurate financial records, investor reporting, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly accounts, including balance sheet reconciliations, distribution calculations, and unit pricing calculations
- Manage cash, income accruals, prepayments, expense accruals, management fees, performance fees, DRP and distributions, MTM valuations, intercompany transactions, and interest expense for leveraged positions
- Perform foreign currency and derivative valuations
- Work across Australian Trusts, Cayman Limited Partnerships, and US LLCs
- Handle payment of vendor invoices, management and performance fees, and ATO payments
- Ensure tax compliance including monthly IAS and quarterly BAS
- Lodge distribution calculations with fund registries and review outputs
- Prepare annual and half-year financial statements and liaise with auditors
- Prepare annual and semi-annual fund tax workpapers and coordinate with tax advisors
- Support reporting, investor, and internal stakeholder queries regarding unit pricing, distributions, and fund returns
- Partner with investment, fund operations, product, tax, distribution, and client services teams
About You
- Minimum 2 years’ fund accounting experience
- Experience working in a BPO or local company with direct liaison with international organizations
- Experience in asset/funds management
- Technical proficiency in fund accounting (AASB 9; exposure to AASB 13 and AASB 10 preferred)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- CA, CPA qualified or equivalent
Nice to Have:
- Experience in Australian or global credit asset management
- Basic Australian tax knowledge (S128F, RITCs, WHT)
