Purpose:
MA Financial Group is looking to onboard an experienced Senior DataOps Engineer, supporting the Data Enablement chapter within our Australia Business Transformation, your mission is to build robust data platforms supporting dynamic solutions across all modalities of data. What you will do:
Analytics & Commercial Impact

Deliver actionable insights across lending, credit risk, portfolio performance, pricing, customer acquisition and retention.

Develop and maintain dashboards, reporting frameworks and performance metrics aligned to business strategy.

Partner with stakeholders across credit, risk, finance, operations and distribution to embed analytics into decision-making.

Support forecasting, scenario modelling and portfolio analytics.
Cloud Data Platform & Engineering Alignment

Leverage MA Financial’s modern cloud data platform (Azure/AWS-based architecture) to build scalable, reliable analytics solutions.

Work closely with Data Engineering and DataOps teams to ensure high-quality, well-modeled and production-ready data assets.

Design and optimise data models aligned to analytics use cases and lending performance metrics.

Contribute to continuous improvement of data pipelines, automation and cloud-native analytics workflows.
Banking & Lending Expertise

Apply strong knowledge of retail, commercial or non-bank lending operations.

Support credit risk analytics, arrears analysis, provisioning insights and regulatory reporting requirements.
-
Ensure alignment with APRA, ASIC and other regulatory standards where applicable.

Embed analytics into credit decisioning and operational processes.
Governance, Quality & Controls

Promote strong data governance and data quality practices.

Ensure compliance, confidentiality and integrity of sensitive financial data.

Support audit and risk requirements across the lending portfolio.
Stakeholder Leadership

Communicate complex analytical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Influence senior stakeholders through structured insight and evidence-based recommendations.

Qualifications and Experience:
-
7+ years’ experience in analytics within banking, lending or financial services
-
Strong experience working within modern cloud data platforms (AWS, Snowflake, dbt, airflow, etc..)

Advanced SQL skills and experience working with large-scale data environments

Strong proficiency in Python for advanced analytics
-
Experience building scalable reporting and dashboarding solutions (e.g., Power BI, Tableau or equivalent)

Solid understanding of credit risk, lending operations and financial performance metrics
-
Experience working in regulated financial environments
-
Experience supporting non-bank lending, mortgage lending or consumer finance
-
Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps and analytics productionisation practices
-
Experience integrating analytics outputs into operational decision engines or workflows
