Join our fast-paced Directory Services team as a Senior Identity Engineer with expertise in automation to deliver a next generation Modern Authentication environment. You will be part of a cross functional team developing, maintaining, and supporting enterprise authentication and authorisation in a hybrid cloud/on-premises environment.

What role will you play?

You will be responsible for the operational management and enhancement of our authentication platforms, including Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD). You will be involved in application onboarding to Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), managing Conditional Access policies, driving automation, reporting, and alerting initiatives to ensure robust and stable authentication services. You will focus on continuous improvements and platform support with the goal to achieve a highly available Authentication capability for all applications used within Macquarie.
Your day-to-day will include developing and maintaining automation scripts for identity management tasks (e.g., PowerShell, Azure Automation), creating and delivering regular reports on authentication activity, security incidents, and operational health, and implementing alerting solutions to detect and respond to authentication anomalies and service disruptions.

  • Extensive experience with Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD)
  • Hands-on experience with MFA solutions (e.g., Azure MFA, third-party MFA providers)
  • Proficiency in PowerShell or other scripting languages for automation
  • Familiarity with Conditional Access, SSO, and identity governance concepts
  • Experience with monitoring and reporting tools (e.g., Azure Monitor, Sentinel, Splunk)
  • Exposure to automation platforms (e.g., Azure Logic Apps, Power Automate)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate, Azure certifications), experience with cloud identity management and hybrid environments, and knowledge of security frameworks and regulatory requirements (i.e. iso, NIST, GDPR) are highly regarded.
