Our opportunity
We’re looking for boating enthusiasts who are keen to bring their energy, reliability, and love of the water to our award-winning Birkenhead Point Marina.
As a Marina Attendant, you'll play a key role in keeping our marina running smoothly and safely, while delivering five-star service to our customers. You’ll support the day-to-day operations and help ensure the marina is always ready for action.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Welcoming and assisting customers - making every visit smooth and enjoyable
- Carrying out daily marina inspections to ensure it’s in top operational condition
- Helping identify and manage risks to ensure a safe environment
- Proactively identify and report marina maintenance and repair requirements
- Assist with maintenance tasks and work on the marina’s vessel
- Perform kiosk duties e.g. allocating marina berths, managing kayak storage queries, stocktake inventory
- Assist customers with vessel refuelling
- Stepping in as Dock Master when needed
- Act as Marina Manager on evenings/weekends/public holidays as required
Your point of difference
This role would suit a student who's passionate about working as a Marina Attendant and looking for some casual but regular work.
To be successful you will have:
- New South Wales Boating License (required)
- Previous boating or marina experience (highly regarded)
- Demonstrated experience working with vessels, with an understanding of AMSA/RMS and Work Cover obligations
- Demonstrated understanding of the Underground Petroleum Storage System (UPSS), Marina Operation Plan and Environmental Manual, and Dangerous Goods and EPA requirements
- Good IT proficiency
- Ability to work on weekends and public holidays as required
- Proactive and self-motivated mindset, with the ability to solve issues as they arise and to improve system and process efficiencies and effectiveness.
