Our opportunity

As the Senior Manager, Nature, you will provide sustainability leadership to Mirvac colleagues, understanding and meeting investor and regulatory disclosure requirements, and collaborating within our industry to set benchmarks for success.

Your responsibilities will include:

Maintain leadership and excellence in Mirvac sustainability performance, with a focus on nature

  • Review Mirvac’s dependence and impact upon, as well as opportunities for nature
  • Map and implement a strategic pathway for commercially-aligned, meaningful measures to protect and enhance natural assets
  • Ensure preparedness for nature requirements in governance, systems, performance, and products
  • Strategically integrate nature into existing and emerging sustainability approach
  • Review, refresh, and maintain Mirvac’s nature-related carbon offsets approach.

Internal collaboration

  • Be regarded as a credible sustainability leader in Mirvac whose advice, inputs, and guidance is sought and valued
  • Engage across Mirvac to build and maintain a common understanding of why nature is important, and how it connects to wider sustainability work, including, e.g. materials, circularity/waste, water, Reconciliation, and employee volunteering
  • Convene and lead an internal working group to design and deliver on our nature plan
  • Collaborate to design, implement, and lead Mirvac’s capability to assess and mitigate for nature risk and opportunity on new and existing assets.

Reporting & governance

  • Develop and agree metrics to internally assess, manage, and report on progress through the ESG scorecard for the HSE&S management committee, HSE&S Board sub-committee, and MGR Board
  • Plan for increased external disclosure and assurance requirements, including bases of preparation, collaboration with third party assurers, and internal collaboration
  • Technical expertise to review and verify nature data in disclosures
  • Collaborate with sustainability leaders in the commercial and residential divisions to set, incorporate, and monitor minimum performance standards in the Mirvac Investment Committee governance processes.

Industry associations and policy

  • Coordinate Mirvac positions and responses on industry-based advocacy, such as through the Property Council of Australia, the Green Building Council of Australia, efforts led by city councils, and other relevant bodies
  • Represent Mirvac at industry roundtables and working groups.

Drive strong engagement with key stakeholders

  • Develop and manage trusting relationships with all levels of stakeholders, internally and externally
  • Consult with internal and external stakeholders to understand needs and meet requirements
  • Establish and maintain relationships with relevant external reporting bodies and participate in industry groups
  • Develop and implement high quality disclosures which leverages the value of our sustainability outcomes in a way that is valued by stakeholders.

Your point of difference

You will be suitably qualified with solid experience in the property and/or sustainability sectors, including experience with an ASX listed company. You will be proactive with internal engagement to listen and deliver on needs in a way that is valued by the receiver as well as excellence in strategic and embedded response to nature, offsets, and circularity, maintaining industry-leading reputation.

You will be confident building a reputation as a credible and trusted sustainability leader both internally and externally; and creating a respected representation of Mirvac at industry forums, events, and workshops, bringing an informed one Mirvac approach to policy positions.
