Our Opportunity
We’re looking for a Senior Accountant, Commercial Finance - Residential Development to join our Sydney team. You’ll bring commercial thinking and strong technical capability to help shape project decisions, reviewing and modelling feasibilities, strengthening forecasts and budgets, and providing clear insights that support performance across a diverse portfolio.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Partner with Development teams early to shape and challenge feasibility assumptions, returns and risk/opportunity.
- Lead project-level budgeting and forecasting, translating feasibilities into Anaplan and ensuring true-ups and adjustments are accurate.
- Deliver month-end review and insight across inventory, cost of goods, allocations and project performance.
- Strengthen cashflow and capital management—forecasting equity contributions, supporting funds transfers, and maintaining a clear view of cash and capital impacts.
- Support approvals and new business opportunities with scenario modelling, analysis and clear commercial commentary.
- Contribute to continuous improvement—uplifting controls, reporting and process efficiency across the division.
About You
- CA/CPA qualified, with strong technical accounting capability and commercial acumen.
- Significant experience in commercial finance/management accounting (c. 8+ years), ideally within property development.
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills, with confidence interpreting feasibility drivers and project returns.
- Clear communication and stakeholder partnering skills—able to influence and bring people on the journey.
- Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to deliver to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach and a genuine interest in improving how we work.
- Experience partnering within joint ventures/third-party relationships and working knowledge of income tax and GST in a development environment.
