Think of ultra-low power Wi-Fi chips that reach 10x further and cover 1000x the volume of conventional Wi-Fi deployments.

Reporting to the Head of Information Technology, this position is located in Sydney, Australia and is available immediately. This role offers unique opportunities such as working with AWS High Performance Cloud Computing, supporting a deep tech lab infrastructure with hundreds of Raspberry Pi platforms running Embedded Linux, and the occasional “printer doesn’t work” support request.

Responsibilities include:

  • Building, maintaining and developing Linux based cloud infrastructure
  • General IT network infrastructure support (Palo Alto / Aruba / Unifi equipment)
  • Support Engineering Team with optimisation of lab infrastructure
  • Automation through Bash / Perl / Python scripting
  • Ad-hoc Windows / Mac / Linux laptop support for users
  • Monitoring Unix systems and troubleshooting performance issues
  • Author and update online IT documentation as necessary
  • Ownership of trouble ticketing system
  • Procurement of IT equipment
  • Working with vendors on pricing, tracking service delivery
  • Ability to converse with a highly technical user base
  • Participation in sprint and/or task-based DevOps project work

Essential skills & requirements:
(you must have these skills to be considered):

  • 5+ years of experience in IT support or a related area
  • 2+ years of Linux System Administrator experience
  • “Can-do” attitude
  • Proven ability to schedule work load
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Scripting experience

Bonus skills
(if you have these, you can stand out among the crowd but don’t sweat it if you don’t):

  • Working knowledge of networking (LAN, WAN, routing and switching)
  • Experience with some of our day-to-day tools including:
    • Atlassian (Jira, Confluence & Bitbucket)
    • Git
    • Google Workspace
    • Jenkins
    • Microsoft Office suite
    • Zoom
  • Working knowledge of AWS
  • Recognised IT certification
  • RHCSA / RHCE / CompTIA / LPIC-2 etc
  • MCSE
