Senior Full-Stack Engineer MotorPlatform
Software Engineering
Lane Cove, NSW, Australia
We're moving fast and we want someone who can keep up.
MotorPlatform is the operating system for vehicle acquistions and remarketing in Australian automotive. Our customers are outcompeting their competitors thanks to our workflow software, independent valuation engine, and closed wholesale marketplace. Volume is growing month on month. Enterprise customers across fleet, OEM, and dealer groups are signing. We're early on a steep curve, and we're hiring to accelerate, not catch up.That's the macro. Here's the role.
The role
A Senior Full-Stack Engineer who ships fast, thinks like an operator, and uses AI tooling to compound their own output. Not someone who waits for a ticket. Someone who reads the spec, asks why we're building it, then ships something sharper than what was asked for.
You'll work directly with the our closely integrated Dev team. And the founders will speak with you directly. No three layers of PM. No JIRA ceremony for its own sake. You ship, you see the result the same week, you move on to the next thing.
Stack
You’ll work across a modern Laravel API, React web frontend, and React Native mobile app. Our platform runs on AWS with managed databases, caching, queues, object storage, search, real-time features, infrastructure as code, and full CI/CD. We use modern developer tooling, including AI-assisted coding tools, where appropriate.
AI team
We have an in-house AI team building the proprietary models that power MotorIntel, our intelligence layer.
What you'll do
- Ship features end-to-end across workflow, marketplace, and AI interface solutions
- Own outcomes, not lines of code. If the spec is wrong, say so. If the implementation is wrong, say so
- Lift the engineering bar by example. Code review, architecture calls, showing the team how to actually leverage AI tooling
- Influence product, not just deliver it
What "uses AI well" means to us
We don't care which IDE you use. We care that you:
- Break problems into pieces AI can accelerate, and pieces it can't, and you know the difference
- Read AI output critically. You don't ship slop
- Know when a paired Claude or Cursor session saves four hours, and when it costs you four
- Treat AI as leverage on your thinking, not a substitute for it
The "why" thing
If you can't explain why a feature matters to a customer, you can't build the right version of it. AI tooling makes that worse, not better. It lets you ship the wrong thing faster. We need someone who slows down at the right moments and speeds up everywhere else.
Why this role, right now
- You want to be part of a business that is winning in an industry that people say can't be won.
- We're at the inflection point. The product is working, the customers are real, the volume is climbing every month
- You'll have visible impact in week one and compounding impact every month after
- Direct line to founders on every decision that matters
- A team that wants to be lifted, not protected
Not for you if
- You want to work from home.
- You want a simple 9 to 5 role.
- You need a fully-specced ticket to start
- You can't explain a feature in customer terms
- You're not spending 20% of your personal time on improving your technical abilities.
Pay: Senior band. Tell us your number and what you will give for it.
How to apply
Three things. No cover letter.
- One paragraph on a feature you shipped recently and why it mattered to a customer
- One paragraph on how you actually use AI in your workflow today, specifically
- A link to code we can read
