The role:
We are seeking a passionate Senior Software Engineer to join our Integrations team and work closely with the Lead Software Engineer. In this role, you will design, develop, and optimise high-quality, scalable applications and systems to improve our data flow and integration capabilities.
You will write clean, efficient, and well-documented code, collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and implement solutions, and provide technical governance within your squad. Additionally, you will conduct code reviews, ensure code quality, and adhere to best practices throughout the full software development lifecycle, from planning and design to deployment, operation, and maintenance.

Day to day:

  • Assist the Lead Software Engineer by being responsible for applying technical governance and oversight to the output of your squad and department.
  • Providing strong technical leadership and coaching to your squad and the department.
  • Working in an agile software engineering environment to deliver awesome features that will delight our customers.
  • Writing software in an iterative environment using continuous integration and continuous delivery.
  • Working in a collaborative environment to design, prove, document, engineer, test, deploy, scale and operate software.
  • Contributing technically to ensure design feasibility; approach; usability; architecture; code quality; testability; scalability; and performance.
  • Suggesting appropriate technologies, techniques and standards to help deliver our goals.
  • Participating in scrum ceremonies to help provide visibility and accountability towards delivery of projects you’re working on.
  • Pairing with other team members.
  • Supporting and developing other software engineers by providing advice, coaching, mentoring and educational opportunities
  • Working to help ensure homogeneous code contributions from everyone on your team.
  • Working with a geographically distributed software engineering team.
  • Assisting with driving the adoption of good practices across the department.
  • Updating job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques, and technologies; participating in educational opportunities; maintaining personal networks; and participating in professional organisations.

Our ideal MyPasser:

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, focusing on coding, debugging, and optimisation.
  • Proficiency in Open API (Swagger), with experience in API design and documentation.
  • Experience with AWS API Gateway and AWS CloudFront for scalable API management.
  • Strong background in system integration, ensuring smooth data flow across systems.
  • Familiarity with OAuth2 for secure authorisation.
  • Hands-on experience with DevOps practices, including infrastructure as code.
  • Ability to enhance existing APIs and maintain their functionality.
  • Previous experience in a DevOps environment and a scale-up organisation.
  • Effective organisational skills and time management, with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Passion for technology, curiosity about new methodologies, and staying updated with industry trends.
  • Trustworthiness in handling sensitive information.
  • Resourcefulness in problem-solving and overcoming challenges.
  • Positive attitude towards work and collaborative team environments.
  • Strong attention to detail in development and documentation tasks.
