In the role of Senior AI Data Scientist, you will join the AI COE team that’s doubling down on customer obsession.

In this Senior AI Data Scientist -role, you will:

• Develop the core components of NAB’s agentic AI products: implementing agent reasoning loops, tool use interfaces, memory systems, context management, and orchestration logic.
• Translate architectural designs into robust, tested, production-grade implementations, working across the boundary of data science and software engineering.
• Design and implement prompting strategies, retrieval pipelines, and context assembly that determine the quality and reliability of agent behaviour.
• Conduct rapid experimentation to test hypotheses about agent design: what works, what fails, and why; building the empirical evidence base that informs architectural decisions.
• Iterate continuously on agent performance: diagnosing failure modes, identifying root causes, and implementing targeted improvements
  
  

We’re looking for the best and brightest to deliver the best for our customers. You’ll need:

• Strong hands-on experience in machine learning, with demonstrable depth in at least one of: LLM-based systems, agentic AI, NLP, optimisation, or reinforcement learning
• Proficiency in Python and the modern ML stack: experience with foundation model APIs, agentic orchestration frameworks, vector databases, and evaluation tooling
• Experience taking AI systems from prototype to production
• Strong foundations in statistics, probability, and experimental design: you can design rigorous experiments, interpret results critically, and quantify uncertainty
• Familiarity with prompt and context engineering, retrieval augmented generation, tool use patterns, and agent orchestration. Direct hands-on experience is strongly preferred.
